This routine has become indispensable to my mornings since I learned it from Br. Phap De at Deer Park in 2014. I have never found an exercise routine that feels so good I actually want to do it!

I would like to thank you for sharing this. I had a severe motorcycle accident some months ago and am still learning to walk again. As I am just barely able to stand without aid again, I need to regain my flexibility and I am giving this a try with my jo (medium sized fighting stick).

After u get the hang of the movements do you visualize anything while ur breathing in? Like a bottle of air? You imagine the air is filling up from your belly going all the way to the top?

I do appreciate and love that that the South-East Asians Buddhist have taken our Chinese Qigong to heart, even if they have changed the stick exercises quite a bit and use a very long pole :-) I myself practice the original Chinese Qigong exercises with the four-foot bamboo stick. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4bHnHpmmb2YapY

I am a patient of ankylodging spondylitis. I have hip joint replacement on both sides. Can I do these stick exercises? If I can, which ones can I exercise?

Dear Turin, Thank you for your interest in using the Dong stick exercised to improve your health. I have contacted our teacher featured in the video and this is her reply: ‘I suggest looking at the U tube and trying exercises that look possible for you. Try the easiest do 3 of each exercise very slowly. Stand and breathe, smile, enjoy. Maybe start with one or two exercises. Pay attention to your body. How does it feel? Continue if you feel like it. Once a day every day. Use a light stick the same length as your height. Enjoy.’ With love, Teri West on behalf of Plum Village UK

Being a martial artist for well over 20 yrs I advise you to do what any reasonable person in your case should do: consult a doctor and don't ask strangers on the internet.

Where should the position of the stick be?.. thanks
@PlumVillageUK3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question vk - it is not easy to understand however - do you mean in relation to the hands? The stick moves through many positions 😊 if you haven’t found your answer you might want to explain some more🙏🏾
