Bandsaw Coffee Scoop
This project started as a scrap wood project so I could learn how to use a bandsaw. As I am a firm believer it's not as engaging to simply make cuts in wood like practicing curves or straight lines just for the sake of practicing. It is more engaging when practicing while making something you want; you have more stake in the product and will focus more which will in turn embed the knowledge.
The scrap I used at first were left over stiles / rungs from a stair railing I built and the happy accident is the wood was the precise size needed.

Could you design the scoop so that the opposite end has a round flat surface for tamping the coffee in espresso machines

That would be an awesome idea. I guess it depends on diameter needed for tamper. My limited experience with them they are usually metal and more than 2 inch dia. Sounds like an interesting challenge.

@@BubbasWorkbench The one I have is plastic with a bowl (useless, the scoop would be far easier to use) and 1&7/8 inches diameter tamper. Would turning be possible.
