Wonderful, this song brings back memories of when I did not have a care in the world, now the world has changed so much and age is catching up and life is coming to a conclusion, as I listen to Barbara the clock continues to tick, and the thoughts of a emotional past run through my mind. I have that urge to catch up on the music of long ago, I'm 75 now, and although like some of today's music, I do long for the music of the past. Maybe it's a sign of old age, or my time is upon? Who knows??

When I saw Barbara Dickson live this was the song that brought tears to my eyes. It is one of my favourite songs in any genre and one I never tire of hearing. If it had been properly handled by the record company it would have been an absolutely massive hit. Writing wise, it is Mike Batt at his absolute best.

This song makes me cry, it reminds me of my late Aunt Joyce and the Arches garage that she had with her husband , in 1985 or 1986, I think of the good times I had with Joyce and her dogs that she brought up and the dogs she rescued over the years, it makes me so sweetly sad yet happy, bless you Aunty Joyce, I miss you so much, along with my Mum, be free and happy wherever you may be , I know you are in Heaven with my Mum Asenath Lynne and Grandma Cissie and Grandad Peter and all your doggies and me and Mum's doggie, Pluto, and all our loved ones. I saw her do a show in Norwich some time ago. First song, she came on stage on her own, and just sang without any instrument backing. Absolutely awesome voice! One of the greatest female singers ever!

Such an amazing voice - she always had (and probably still does have) something very special and rare: a supremely delicate control over quiet passages, but with the power to belt out louder ones with plenty in reserve. All with a hint of her Scottish accent and a smile that would trouble a thinking man. O and she can act well too..

I'm 57... and have no idea WHY I ALWAYS cry inconsolably with this song. I know I heard it more thanb "often" in my youth, yet it doesn't remind me on a specific time, person or event. It's just teh music itself I guess. Mike Batt did a great job here, touching people's soul.
