When I saw Barbara Dickson live this was the song that brought tears to my eyes. It is one of my favourite songs in any genre and one I never tire of hearing. If it had been properly handled by the record company it would have been an absolutely massive hit. Writing wise, it is Mike Batt at his absolute best.

This song makes me cry, it reminds me of my late Aunt Joyce and the Arches garage that she had with her husband , in 1985 or 1986, I think of the good times I had with Joyce and her dogs that she brought up and the dogs she rescued over the years, it makes me so sweetly sad yet happy, bless you Aunty Joyce, I miss you so much, along with my Mum, be free and happy wherever you may be , I know you are in Heaven with my Mum Asenath Lynne and Grandma Cissie and Grandad Peter and all your doggies and me and Mum's doggie, Pluto, and all our loved ones. I'm 57... and have no idea WHY I ALWAYS cry inconsolably with this song. I know I heard it more thanb "often" in my youth, yet it doesn't remind me on a specific time, person or event. It's just teh music itself I guess. Mike Batt did a great job here, touching people's soul.
