I normally make a "original" Rosemary Gladstar's recipe. This year I did a "Northwoods" version with added cranberry, blueberry, elderberry and sumac berry, strained and add honey---Yum! The remains(marc) Freeze Dried and powdered and added sea salt...great spice!

I followed your cranberry orange recipe and it was so pretty on the counter! Taste good too! That inspired me to make elderberry, echinacea fire cider which was delicious also. Thank you
@Joylegacy58 ай бұрын
Hey!! Have you ever thought about adding echinacea or elderberry tea to your cider? Is rosemary the only herb you add? Fire cider is the only reason we’ve only had a mild cold so far this winter. I have 5 kiddos, and they’re ALWAYS sick with something in the winter, and the more I learned about common cold and flu meds that are on the shelves in our grocery stores, the more I am deterred by them! Fire cider has been a lifesaver and yes, even my three-year-old takes it and yes, I do put a butt load of honey in it! Lol 😆

I think somebody is teething ❤ I used to use Nelson's teething granules on my pup. 1/4 - 1/2 a sachet. I don't know if you have that there or if you have a herb blend you can give Moose. The herbs that are in Nelson's teething granules help calm, comfort and get rid of that niggling teething discomfort and pain pups go through. Hence they chew out hands etc... they're no different to babies ❤ he's got the best Mumma for the job 😊

I've made 3 batches of fire cider with some modifications. In the very first batch, I used jarred horseradish root because it was all I could find. Not thinking, I dumped the whole jar in and it was double the amount called for. It works great for draining my sinuses😊 Since then, I am MUCH more cautious with measurements. The other batches are MUCH less volatile and don't need honey 😂

I make something similar a few times a year, much simpler though. Grated ginger and turmeric, squeezed lemons ( I love amalfi lemons for it's sweet flowery taste and scent) and honey. All of this I let simmer in freshly boiled water until it reaches body temp. Poor onto bottles and store in my fridge. Taken once or twice daily as a shot, or with some water as a refreshing drink. Thanks for sharing all these great videos so full of health and lively lovely people

Moose is so excited and wanting so much attention. I made fire cider last year after seeing your video. When I drained it out, I ended up with 3 smaller bottles of it. I put honey in one to use, but the truth is I did not use much honey and it has some heat. I like the ideal of adding the honey in a shot glass then adding the fire cider. I dyhrated the pulp, then powder it up. I put some in capsules and also left some to put in a jar. I figured if I get to feeling bad, I can add the powder to some food as well.

I just love seeing Moose. I’ve had a couple of Aussies. They are so smart and extremely loyal (and maybe just a bit on the high energy side 🤣). I actually enjoy the flavor of my Fire Cider, but I don’t add horseradish (🤢). Maybe some day. For now I’ll enjoy enjoying it. 😉 Heavy on citrus, ginger, onion, jalapeño & garlic, with a touch of oregano and tulsi basil. I also add the honey as I’m dosing it.

Hi Kaylee, Your videos inspired me to make my first batch of FireCider... Actually used the same ingredients you recommended except the horseradish root. I had the exact question that you addressed in this video about the honey. I tried it that way, just adding a bit of honey.. Wow, its pretty powerful stuff... The only thing I am wondering is, after it is pressed off, while storing it, should it be shaken once in awhile? There seems to be a little bit of sediment at the bottom of the jar, or should I strain it again? Thank you for all you do.

I made fire cider for the first time. When it was ready, I filtered it out but did not put it in the frig. It has been a month or two on a shelf.
