This 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge was bought new in 1969 by the same owner who has it today! He used it for a few years. An individual rear ended the car, and it was fixed and then put away. The owner is in the construction business. When he was building his shop, he put down a new concrete floor. As soon as it had set, he drove the GTO into the shop to keep it safe, and never drove it again! It hasn't moved since 1980!

As a certified Pontiac freak, I'm loving this bad boy. Give her a wash, get her running and drive this bad boy. I bet the engine is stoll good, oil change, tune up, rebuild the carburetor, fresh 108 octane fuel,fresh battery. Amazing find, these years are what I remember from the early 70s.👍🏁👍🏁

Wish I would've met you when I lived in Dekalb, Illinois! There were a bunch of muscle cars just sitting in fields when I was growing up! Hell, my Dad and I restored a '70 Olds W-31 that we found in corn crib, now it's in a museum in Wisconsin! Today he drives a '72 Old 442 Convertible, during the summer. I myself drive an all wheel drive 99 Tahoe with a 470hp small block, soon to have twin turbos. Awesome videos!!!!

I agree completely. Just wash it, get rebuild kits for the brake system and carburetor, oil the cylinders, change all fluids, flush out the gas tank, new battery and get it running and get new tires. Then DRIVE IT as is. DO NOT RESTORE IT. It is a fantastic survivor and is only original once. A friend of mine has 2 Judges. 1 he did a full restoration on that is identical to the one featured here only with a black interior. The other is a dark blue restomod that was already done when he bought it. The only thing that was changed on it is the engine and transmission which is an LS and automatic transmission. He tried finding the original engine and found out he missed it by a month when it had been hauled out as scrap.

I can't understand treating the car this way........I have a 69 GTO convertible that I bought in 1972 and then converted it into a correct appearing orange Judge convertible after searching a year for a factory orange Judge convertible. I didn't realize at the time that only 108 of them were built, with only about 25 of them being orange so the odds of finding one used back then was negative zero. My car is correct in every way and loaded with 26 options....everything but power windows and power seat. My car has been babied for 50 years now and has always been an extremely nice car....whenever something wasn't perfect I always fixed it immediately. I know a lot of people treat their childhood musclecars like this one has been treated but i will never understand that mentality.

Cool Judge! 2 questions... Did you ask how many miles were on the car ? And why did they blacken out the prices on the build sheet? Blackening out the amounts makes no sense! Not very important I know but makes about as much sense as people blocking the licence plate with their thumb when they take rear end photos. The only thing I might be concerned about on the sheet is the vin # and they did not obscure it at all.

@Wooley689
@Wooley689 2 жыл бұрын
This happened a lot back then because of gas shortages and the cost of fuel versus fuel mileage. The nation was pushing the small engine, reduced horsepower and mandated 55 speed limits. You could pick up muscle cars back then for $800 or less as owners just parked the "Gas guzzlers" in driveways, yards and garages. Friend of mine bought a 1970 454 SS cowl induction Chevelle for the $800 price in high school.
@moparedtn
@moparedtn 2 жыл бұрын
I was there. I saw the first "gas crisis" as a teenager; I "participated" in the second as a young driver. That doesn't begin to answer my question, though. There have been decades pass since then, after all - decades that have seen values on such cars climb to the point that you'd literally have to live under a rock not to know what they're worth at some point during the following 40+ years. Beyond that, even if you had no interest in values of things and weren't interested in ever selling, as an owner you'd want to at least keep such a car at least functional - and more likely, you'd want to fix it up at some point out of whatever love you felt for it that kept you from letting it go. The mentality of keeping something just for the sake of keeping it, not caring how much it deteriorated or whether it just was functional as is - that mentality is what I'm just not understanding. It's theirs, they own it sure - doesn't mean it makes sense to let it rot, whether it's a car or something else.

@@moparedtn Sure I get you, but peoples life situations dictate what is more important and what isn't. Such as my Pops 1937 Cord Phaeton that sat in his garage and only was driven a handful of times after all of us kids came along. It was his dream car but it had to take a backseat after he got out of Navy, began a family and started a business.
@moparedtn
@moparedtn 2 жыл бұрын
@@Wooley689 We've all been there (wow, a Cord!) as we age, sure - but at some point, as good *stewards* of special cars, we sometimes have to do the hardest thing, which is to get the car to someone who will look after it better than ourselves. All I'm saying.
