As a Marine Veteran, I saw him in Afghanistan with the USO. I then saw him 5 times here back at home. His music got so many of us through tough days and times. He was a true Patriot and great American. The Taliban Song made us all laugh

I LOVE this song by him. In 1993 he broke with his original studio who wanted him to do different type songs,started his own label and this was his "F/U" song to those people

My grandma went to Moore High School with Toby, said he was always playing his guitar and got made fun of for it. She said when d see he heard I should’ve been a cowboy she pulled right over

yes, red solo cups have long been used. i was in college in 74, and every keg was accompanied by red solo cups LOL. RIP Toby.

Was gonna say something similar. He made the song due to how popular the cups are here and in the UK they use them because they identify them as US cups-so when they have USA themed parties they use red solo cups

Red Solo cups have been popular for many years. In fact the company did not like Toby’s using it in his song at first. Then due to his song their sales went through the roof.

I remember this one on MTV back in the day. Another Toby Keith video classic on a more serious note that was released July 19, 1994 and is my favorite TK song is, "Toby Keith - Who's That Man (Official Music Video)". Many men, including myself can relate to this sad song.

If I remember right this song is about breaking into the business. The first one he approached to secure a record deal didn’t think much of his songs so he went to another nearby who immediately signed him up and to the top he went! I lived near him in Oklahoma City/Moore then Norman. He was just our hometown boy singing on the radio! He was very genuine and down to earth. ❤

Saw him in concert only once. It was a blast. If I recall correctly this is the sone no label wanted to make. They said girls will never like this. So he started his own. You should check some of the other guys he produced. My personal favorite is Trailer Choir. Check the song Rockin the Beergut. Same tongue in cheek. I had that as the ringtone when my wife calls me. She changed mine to Dennis Leary’s song Asshole. 😜
