You aren't alone, it just grabs your heart & soul and doesn't let go. Much like alot of his music from 1993-1999, his darker days when divorce, heroin, and depression ruled his life. He didn't like playing the music live, but did on a few occasions like this one.

I think this song is a beautiful example of why Benmont Trench may well be the single greatest piano player in rock n roll. He plays way less than he knows he's able to here, giving the emotionality of the song room to breathe. Just the sparsest notes and yet they are so well chosen, so lyrical and melodic that they somehow carry all the emotional weight of one of Tom's songs without ever obtruding on or overwhelming anything else thats going on here. I don't know anyone else who ever did this so well

when my mom was pregnant my dad left her and she had to raise me all on her own. she told me about how she danced to this song with me as a baby in her arms in her small flat. listening to this song gives me chills every time.

I knew of him and his music but never really listened... till he passed. My god, I can’t believe his music was this dam good. His xm channel is now my #1 designated channel. Tom Petty u were a master musical talent. God seems to always take the good ones early.

My husband and I fell in love to Wildflowers 20 years ago and this song is so special to me. He left me in July. Tom's death is like a second leaving and I can barely bear it, but I'm grateful for the music he left us. RIP.

Petty’s Wildflowers album is definitely my favorite out of all his masterpieces. So many on it are, in my opinion, his greatest works. Yet, we never hear so many of the, if any, on the radio. This songs is among my top 5 favorite songs, just another stroke of genius. Rest In Peace

My all-time favorite album-- there's not a single bad song on it. And I might pick "Crawling Back to You" as my favorite song, by anybody, any time, any genre. As many times as I've listened to this album, or even just parts of it when short on time, I don't think I've ever skipped this song. It's like that Seinfeld episode when Elaine dates the guy who likes "Desperado" by the Eagles. ...I just need you to not talk right now.

Odd to see Tom without his Rickenbacker. I was working as a DJ for a local rock station when "Wildflowers" was released. We had three different cuts for "You Don't Know How it Feels", "Let's roll another joint", "Let's hit another joint", and the always-popular Radio Edit"Let's ':::static:: joint". LOL T.P. n HB..... still rock gods in my book.
