I agree I watch jean all the time and get tips. He doesn't just make a video of himself catching fish, he tells you what he's using and all about the bait. He has another video of him showing how to take a bend out of the tail from a zoom fluke and I use this trick every time I'm getting ready to go fishing, if I'm gonna be throwing a fluke. I don't like how it swims when it has the bend in the tail. I used to hate buying flukes cause I would take all the bags of the rack and pick the one that doesn't look all jacked up in the bag lol now I just grab the first one

I found that I change up with one rod with jig/craw and another a craw on a texas rig. That small change could trigger a bass to strike. Plus, let the bass tell you what they want. I fished a cove where I knew there was fish there and no to little bites on my jig. When right back and fished a texas craw and got hammered. Flukeman is right though, bigger bass will bite the skirted jig more, and smaller fish will bite the texas craw. Now once they get one the beds, I fish the craw on the jig with no skirt. Skirt spooks them I think. I fish mainly a 1/2oz football jig and a 3/8oz swim jig. Missouri bass love purple! I am getting older Flukeman, when are we going fishing?

I like them because they look good on video. They are great for the price but I may change here shortly. I just sent two more back for repair. The inserts in the guides keep coming out or breaking and I just had an entire guide pop out of one yesterday. The one with the broken insert still had the tags on it.

Great video. You are a gifted instructor and teacher too. What I like is the simplicity and the honesty of really revealing your techniques. I know a pro would not disclose ALL his secrets but you get to the point and relate it in ways so everyone can find a way to figure out what you mean. The pencil on the fishing line idea, for example, was great. Just found out about your videos on Twitter and now have subscribed too. Thanks looking forward to the next class.

It all depends on the jig and the type of rod you are using. For most of my standard jig fishing I use 20lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon. If I go to a light wire hooked jig I use a Med Hvy rod and 12 or 15lb test line.

For an all around jig rod I like a 7'6" Heavy rod with some flex in the tip so it casts good. For skipping under docks and other cover I will go with a 7' MH rod. The reel must have a great drag and that's why I use a Revo. There is no better drag in the business.

It get caught up often when fishing rocky bottoms. I limit this buy keeping my line a little tighter and not stopping as much as I normally do. I kind of glide it on top of the rocks but still try to stay in contact with them. If it gets to bad I put the jig down and pick up something that will fish them better like a crankbait or a weightless fluke

Yes is great living here just short summer fishing season. Thats why I got hooked ;) on your videos for more technics. I have used cranks and spinners back in wv but seems what worked there is a little different here plus the spawning seasons different. My nephew and I have been debating joining bass fishing club to gain more fishing areas and knowledge. We use mostly top plugs and spinners and bottom plastics with success but could always use more.

this is completely unrelated to the topic .. but you don't have the quality that i find in some other youtubers that I find annoying. Which is quite pleasant. That quality is when they hook into a fish they start grunting and their body all around like they are using all their strength to bring a fish up. I'm glad you don't do that and just fish normally without the extra unnecessary "flair" . Kuddos! Great tips.
