For everyone shocked that the Ballet Dancer didn’t get passed through, I wasn’t surprised. People, not involved or knowledgeable on how technically trained you have to be or the years of hard work it takes, can not appreciate how gifted that dancer was. You could see how shocked the judges were because they understand how much work it takes. I was disappointed but not surprised. 😉

I'm with you. He was phenomenal, but the audience just couldn't relate. I can't stop wondering what would have happened if he chose a more popular piece of music like Swan Lake or something from the Nutcracker. Or he should have danced to a more recent song. That's how Sergei Polunin's ballet to Take Me to Church became viral. People viewed it because they loved the song and they learned to love his dance as well.

Dnahubs you are so correct. I fell in love with Sergei’s performance from Hozier’s song. Le Corsaire is such a beautiful ballet with an amazing and difficult role for men, which is rare. However, it is certainly not a popular ballet and I completely agree with you that he should have chosen either contemporary music or a more widely known ballet. Still fun to,watch. 😁

How did he get through when he’s just floppy and sloppy, fair enough it’s entertaining but that ballet dancer told a story, was technically exceptional and served pure elegance, the audience are clearly not educated enough on dance which is why this show doesn’t work for me

Education works both ways.... What did you expect? It's the Saturday night Reality TV time slot (same on ITV with The Voice). It's aimed at that demographic. If you want something more inspiring go watch the Sky Arts Channel or something.

Love that we have a talent show about dancing, love the judges, the hosts are great, however....this is the problem with not letting professionals having the ultimate power! This guy, bless him, seems lovely, but that’s the dancing I see me and my friends at G.A.Y doing on a Saturday night when drunk...the ballet dancer was absolutely faultless and got sent home, it was a travesty! Let the judges who have talent have the final say!!!

Lewis Morgan yeah I was there and the whole voting system was messed up. At one point this amazing group didn’t get through because if you don’t vote it’s an instant no, and the show was running really late at this point. So loads of people had left but there was no method of collecting the hand sets so they just got loads of instant no’s and didn’t get through. The organisers completely ignored everyone asking for a re vote

For once we have a talent show where we the public choose who goes through and the main point is that although he may not have the same professional training as the ballet dancer but what he did have was the charisma and enthusiasm to dance the way he wants to and that’s why the audience voted for him... to watch him was infectious and everyone loves an underdog. Let him have his brief moment in the spotlight without all the hate. xxx

Because his dancing is "modern" and ballet is "boring". You heard the groans when they heard that the dance was ballet. The ballet dancer had no chance when he entered. The audience had already decided before the ballet dancer started dancing. It's horrible but it's true

Dance isn’t always about having the technique, ability and the look. it’s about having fun and showing passion for whatever dance style you choose. Myself am a ballerina and I love assorts of dance. If anyone is wondering why he got through the doors and the ballet dancers didn't, it's partly because the category is freestyle, not ballet, and the technical expectations of each category isn't the same. James has been dancing on these shows for a decade, he's a fun dancer and that's what dancing is all about. People pushed their buttons because he was having fun and in turn they were having fun, it's up to the audience to decide what emotions are being portrayed and how they respond to the audition. People can mock James but I love him, I think he's fantastic, even if one day he might only get a job at Butlins or something it doesn't matter, he danced and expressed him self, and the self confidence in him just to be him self and rock it out is what deserved him this.
