Can you please help me. I'm trying to figure out this hair thing in unity for a week. I even updated my unity version. I don't know the proper way to apply these hair cards. I tried one and it doesn't cover the scalp. Do I have to apply another material for underneath?

Ouch... I thought in this video we would have built a shader nut just inspect the shader that comes with unreal. I don't know if you have a video like this or not, but it would be nice to see your take on a hair shader.

Great video, but how does one actually use the hair cards on a character? I tried applying a hair card as a material and it looks like the character's hair is thinning and patchy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

weird question, how would you make the colors of the hair match the UV coordinates? I'm drew an animal print in Substance... and when the maps are applied in blender the strands extend the colors of the mesh, but that just doesn't translate into Unreal. Any tips on how to do that?
@jozseflaszlo7445 Жыл бұрын
Oof, I don't understand how you opened and managed to modify the hair in Unreal. I see you have two windows. One being the hair curves mesh or what's it called and the other the mi_hair material instance. But if I modify the mi_hair nothing happens to my opened hair. How do you do that?

Hello Ben, why does the anisotropy channel work on translucent mode materials in Unity while it doesn't in Unreal? And how am I supposed to make Anisotropy work on a translucent material in UE? Thank you for your helpful videos and wish you good luck. You are the No.1 Material TA Mentor in my heart.
@ultracapitalistutopia3550 Жыл бұрын
In UE, you need to change the lighting mode of translucent material to enable PBR, I believe it is the last 2 options in the translucent lighting mode, but keep in mind that they are very performance-taxing and should be used sparingly.
@李䶮-o4w Жыл бұрын
@@ultracapitalistutopia3550 Thank you very much for your idea, while I tried all the lighting modes and none of them supports the Anisotropy to work. And I just did tried them again as you mentioned, which turned out the same end. Surface forward shading mode is what I'm currently using trying to create an advanced lace silk stock material. The solution I took is that I used another masked material to make the Anisotropy work and blend it as the override material onto the basic translucent material. If you think I'm wrong or have better ideas on this, please comment. Thank you again for your reply.

Anyone knows how to use high quality line rendering on custom mesh with line topology without any animation. It seems to work only with the animation system. Unity gives workflow in their documentation but it simply doesnt work. Error pops up
@BenCloward Жыл бұрын
Probably better to ask this Unity-specific question in the HDRP section of the Unity forum and include the details of the error.
