Number 3 in diagnostic mode comes up with a spin code.when I turn to spin only ,the mode changer engages the gears , washer starts to spin then after a few seconds, machine shuts down .

Hats off to you, sir! Keep up the great work. Our washer was stuck locked and wouldn't let us begin a new cycle. We had clothes in there getting reallllly smelly. Going into diag mode > clearing codes > back out of diag mode.. that made it work again and be able to start a new cycle! Cheers

Yup just did the all cycle through with exceptions of hot cold valves. Exited diagnostic mode. And ran an empty (no clothes) small load size for water on tap cold and light on permanent press. Watched it with the front cover off the whole time to ensure the gears aligned and the pump worked and no weird noises were identified. Gtg. Thanks for the wonderful tips. Saved me so much money. And my landlord a headache

Hi just got one these newer model I believe , is it normal for the dryer while tumbling to have a scrapping noise that starts small then gets loud and reduces gradually and phases out and then again, or is this the machine shooting the heat out in loud "spurts" like a drumbeat "1" and "2" and "3" and " 4" etc, ?? You just saved us a LOT LOT of $ - the washer in our stacked wouldn't fill, just kept draining. GE troubleshooting sez "Reset" but they don't tell you HOW. I went into diag mode and then unplugged it, that did the trick. Wife thinks I'm some sort of genius.

This video and your other one titled "GE stacked error codes" made it easy to attempt to troubleshoot my W/D. I did have to google around to find the service manual for my specific model, but the concept and controls were basically the same. The codes made it easy to start the search. Turned out to be some underwear wrapped above the drive pulley which also snagged the speed sensor and popped off the belt. Speed sensor locking clips are all bent out of shape, but installed temporarily till I can locate the part. Thanks!

All kind of codes on ours for 2 years, 2 units..AW. Finally found it. Tore it apart, checked all harnesses, sensors, no issue. Pulled it out check hoses, no problem. THEN, Pulled it out a little further...OMG, Installed with drain line put in about 2 feet!. THIS results in a long fill. During fill it siphons into drain if drain is lower than water level, and the unit times out on fill. Wiretied the drain line so it is only about 4 inch in...NO PROBLEMS NOW 2 YEARS... expcept the black marks from the crappy dryer seal. Clean the dryer guides about 1 year. I'm hoping new shrouds.

for the lid switch continuity which end do you test (the port on the maching or the lid switch itself) and what number to put the multimeter on? what number should it read? should the power be on on the machine if it is that end i am testing?

Great video. I opened my Kenmore stackable up and had my wife undies wrapped around that black wheel with the teeth on it under the motor. I tried to wash a load it filled up and when it was time to agitate, that black wheel was making a loud clicking noise like it was trying to catch but it wasn't able to. I can spin it by hand slow and it turns the washer, but if I turn it faster it's has a hard time catching. Idk. Should I replace that black wheel on the pulley system or the motor? Help

Hi Nathan. I have a 2007 GE space saver model. My dial has similar settings but a little different. My washer would go on but wouldn't agitate. I tried it 3 or 4 times but it wouldn't agitate. I tried running diagnostics by pushing the two buttons and turning the dial down to 6oclock but nothing appeared to happened. But then I tried the washer and it works!! 😃

I had one of these this week. Complaint was they have to push the lid for the washer to lock. Someone had ordered the lid switch and I installed it but it kept doing the same thing. The striker for the lid switch look fine and the lid didn't seem bent in anyway.

Hi there great video thank you. The only thing I didn’t see was a diagnostic for the lid switch. I have the exact same machine as the one you were showing but sometimes it won’t start unless I open and close the lid or sometimes it stops mid cycle and I have to open and close the lid to get it to finish the cycle. I’m thinking that’s probably the lid switch but maybe it’s a plug connecter or something is there a test for this or do I just replace the switch? Thank you

Hi & thanks for the useful video. I ran the test on my washer, hot water, spin and thermoactuator are working fine. But agitation not working and when it is on position 9, water fills into tank, but agitation not starting and suddenly the “wash” light illuminates and when I push the start button, it agitates just once and then “wash” light starts to blink. How can I fix it?

Thanks a lot! I am following through your video since my drain pump was not working. But when I put this in diagnostic mode at knob on 8 oclock, it makes a vibrating noise and nothing else. So I am not sure if mine is just stuck as I can feel that the drain pump is getting hotter. Also, the color of wiring between yours and mine are opposite. Left side black and white right side orange

Dear Mr. Bearded Guy, Want to start off letting you know I am a retired divorced woman on a pretty tight budget, That being said, I am having trouble with my GE stackable and after watching countless videos (yours are the best)I have learned how to diagnose. The issue seems to be when in diagnosis mode and clicked to heavy after a few minutes it works but when it is switched to light, it does nothing. The rinse and spin lights are green. My understanding is that the problem is with the drain pump. It does not appear to be clogged from looking at it (unless I need to take those hoses off to know for sure) Is it possible for you to post a video on how to change the drain pump? That is the model I have! I need your help with it, please! I moved into a new townhouse condo recently and when I first used the washing machine, there was black gunk (scrud I think it's called) all over my clothes. I have tried many times cleaning it out with a cycle of vinegar, a cycle of Affresh tablets, and letting the Affresh soak for hours before rinsing it out. It works at first, but a couple of weeks to a month later I'll start seeing bits of the black gunk again. And then I'll have to do another cleaning. I suspect the gunk is under the agitator, but I don't know how to take it out or if I should call a technician to do so. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I make sure to use a big enough load, I keep the lid open after use, I don't overload it. I'm at a loss. Should the agitator be replaced? Please help. Thank you!

When i start a cycle the wash starts without lid locking and then moves to rinse and it starts blinking. I have to press the start button few times and then everything starts working fine.

I have the same washer dryer combo. The only cycle it works on is Bulky items. And no matter the amount of clothes it’s bumping, jumping and squeaking. If I knew what to do I would do it myself. Repair people want to come during the week when I have to work I can’t take off🤦🏽‍♀️

I have one of these in one of my units and it’s only about a year and a half old. New tenants came in the other day and the washer does not do anything when it goes on the rinse/spin cycle. They put a king size comforter and glad pod in there. It agitates however does not drain or spin the water out. Help please!! I’m pretty hand and I have tools I want to try and fix it myself.

I may need to change the water inlet connection. One of connections is ragged as someone tried to attach a hose and I guess they couldn't get it to work. Do I have to replace it, or can I clean it up/ sand it down a bit?

My GE washer was leaking from bottom last year only when filling warm water. Was not leaking with cold water only as pressure is less. Called a guy and he said its the pump behind the inlet hoses, quoting me a crazy amount. I went and got a pump and my son and I replaced it. Sure was a torture to get to it. It wasn't the pump after all this. The little showerhead behind the inlet was clogged. Took that out, cleaned it and all was good. Was fine until last week. Now leaking from bottom with either temp but still only while water is filling. Can this be repaired? This unit is approx 6 yrs old and used may be once /week.

Thanks for this. I was able to identify the issue was with the drain pump. I disconnected it (after spilling water everywhere of course) to find that it was clogged from a sock. Seems if you load the machine too much clothes can start going into random components :)

Opened up the front panel found the tech sheet. getting into codes is hold start button only. problem = washer stops after wash cycle. door lock clicks three times and , ...boom nothing. turn to spin cycle it drains and spins. any thoughts?

Hi. My g.e. stackable has a problem spinning. It takes 5-6 attempts at spinning, before it takes off, and keeps spinning. Otherwise, it makes several revolutions and stops, and restarts. Also After it's done spinning, it wants to rinse,....again? Any help is appreciated. I'm retired and don't want to replace a 3 yr old washer.

The White Spin shifter…. You say it should slowly move down. … mine did not appear to move at all as the washer filled. Then the motor started. BUT, the white shifter still looks like it’s in the raised position. It’s definitely not making contact with the black gear looking thing below it. I need help! Our ge stack unit was finishing its last spin cycle and stopped at the end or possibly finished and at the same time the dryer stopped mid cycle. The wash light was left with a clicking sound like it was trying to turn on. I unplugged and now dryer dial has to be set away from the off position in order for the washer side to try and start which is just the same clicking noise.
