hmmm you seem to be implying they're the greatest because they were involved in creating hip hop, which is a problematic place to start. hip hop started many years before the beastie boys came along, think of the sugarhill gang, the furious five, treacherous 3, etc, etc, many groups came before them. however, they certainly were responsible for popularising rap, especially through their relationship with rick rubin at def jam and the famed licensed to ill album, which exploded into the mainstream and the associated raising hell tour with run dmc took the music into the white mainstream like never before. so top 5 most influential groups yes, top 5 most formative, very doubtful. still the bomb though, ill communication is a masterpiece in my opinion.

I love the way they wear matching jumpsuits, and then get crazy in random egg/devil combo outfits. It works fashion wise and I especially like the devil egg outfit. It's just so ovular. Obviously one must continue the theme of mythical monsters cooking dinner for you whilst in matching jumpsuits. Anyone for a steak cooked by a dragons fire breath or Haggis from the Loch Ness Monster? Nice they kept the jokey theme going by including Kayne West at the end. Shame he didn't have a green jumpsuit on with a little egg hat worn rakish on the side.
