Beaver Dam Removal Musky Bay 2023 #5

Day five, dam 5! It was a much nicer day today, good and dry. Caught some video of beavers with the trail cam. This was another difficult one where the beavers chose a great spot to build a dam. I am not sure if it used to be a tree or what, but there was no getting that center part out.

@@geneplumley4136, trust me, I really missed the place! 🥴 It’s called Amherst Buffet, I searched upon return and now moved to nearby Tonawanda from near Boulevard Mall that is sadly quite empty now. It was a surprise to see the grocery prices way higher than we have, I mean more than ever before. Not worth forgetting your GPS or not having phone data! 🤪 When seldom asked anywhere, you just scram… Any trapping videos coming up? Btw, nothing like Bram. and we went in hubby’s car that’s crying for a sanding and paint job and we looked as though we belonged in Bram. compared to all other vehicles! 🤣

Hi Gene, absolutely beautiful area and so nice to see the sun instead of all that rain. Could you give us a date at the start of the videos please? It's interesting to compare the changing seasons between where you are and the UK. We are as far North but we have the Gulf Stream keeping the worst of the cold away, it's been lovely here until this latest storm hit. I thought this was the big dam, makes me wonder what's in store next video.😮

Hey, Excession. I can do that! That's a good idea. Hopefully, I wrote down the date for the next one somewhere. It was a couple of weeks ago, and I have been behind on computer work. It is much cooler here now. 🥶. We should be seeing some snow any day now. It usually doesn't stick around until mid to late November. Yes, the sun was a welcome sight. My gear was still wet from the previous day. #6 makes this one look pretty small, just you wait!! 💥 🌊 🌊 🌊

Hi Sue. I am not really sure what you mean? (In pa?) I can tell you that the dam being there is definitely not ok. The new high level of that water is causing problems. Believe me, if this was happening to your property, you would want my help too, 😉. Try and imagine coming home from work one day, and the only road to your home is under water. I guess you and all your neighbors abandon your homes, file for bankruptcy, and start over somewhere else.... (hopefully with no beavers aroud, 😂) I will be getting a drone at some point to better show what is happening to the surrounding areas. 🦫 🪵 💥 💥 💥 🌊 🌊 🌊

Hi Courgettee, 👋. Fair question. I get hired by our town to trap nuisance beavers and remove their dams. I only do this in places that are deemed municipal drains. The water levels on these particular water ways must remain low or they cause flooding in either people's homes, farm fields, culverts, bridges, etc. Any other questions?
