So interesting. So much to learn! I would put rock down around the hives and maybe an easy shade built to put up on really hot days. I know someone that put theirs on pallets screwed the hives down to them so wind doesn’t knock them over. Great job! What a fun new project. SAVE THE BEES 💗

So fun! He seems like a great mentor! One thing you might want to invest in is a frame perch. We used one in our bee class so I bought one for my hive. It hangs on the edge of your hive when you open it and you can place frames on it to hold it instead of setting it on the ground.

The bridge comb on the tops of the frames is harmless and does provide a bridge when you add another super. Humans visually want to clean it and make things tidy. The bees are just going to "correct" the situation and replace it. So one point of view is you are making work for your bees by scraping it off. Granted a ton of it can glue the top of one frame to the bottom of the frame above. A whole box of this will make separating box more difficult. It is a balance. Tidy to a human may be unkept to the bees. The bees are always going to "correct" the beekeeper's mistakes,
