I can also attest to AA Leather's work. They did both my bible of 25 years and my wife's bible (20 years old) and did a great job of putting things back together and working with the custom options I wanted in the rebind. I still preach and teach out of the same bible every week.

Tim this is one of the most amazing things I've seen done to a Bible or any book. To me it's your best video. The Word of God passed down is cherished now physically restored. Emotionally possibly spiritually so much meaning for your mom who obviously loved her great aunt, your great great aunt. I don't know what you will do Sunday as such a special day for you. Congrats. This would be awesome to carry to your ceremony. May the Holy Spirit continue to lead you and an anointing be passed down. New beginning. New life to the Word by an awesome man to work on this precious Bible and new life for you. God bless you.

Tim, now that MY eyes are dry, I can tap out this post. Your mom’s Bible is so well-loved and used, and caused me to, as I often do, think about the family Bible from my childhood home. And I expected that the rebind would result in an astonishing transformation. Thank you so much for including your emotional reaction in the finalization of this video. I know I’m one of many who shared in your tears. I audibly gasped, while blinking back tears, when I saw that your original binding was returned to you. I’d like to suggest that you frame it (maybe in a shadow box). That’s what I want to do with the binding of my first TCR. It was a gift from my sister, decades ago. I’ve already visited AA Leather’s website and will certainly schedule a rebinding project with them. Thanks again for sharing this unboxing with us. Enjoy your newly-bound treasure. ❤

Lovely restoration! To answer your question, the sister of one of your parents is your aunt, the sister of one of your grandparents is your grandaunt, the sister of one of your great grandparents is your great grandaunt, and so forth. So if Evelyn is your Mom’s great aunt (technically “grandaunt”), she’s the sister of your Mom’s great grandparents (your great great grandparent), so is your great great grandaunt. “Removed” refers only to cousins, and each time removed is the difference either way in generation - which cousin (first, second, third, etc. ) is trickier, as it requires looking at which grandparents, great grandparents, etc. you share. There are charts online that help you calculate this.

It's probably okay to call her your great great aunt. "Once removed" is maybe more often used to describe cousins when you're deviating from a generational line. Since your Mom's great aunt is already "deviated" (not the same generation) it doesn't feel effective to use "once removed". I'm no professional, but I come from a family who really enjoys digging into our geneology. WOW! What an incredible Bible you've had made - well done (presentation included!), Andrew!! I JUST had Nick at Lion and Lamb rebind my husband's dad's preaching Bible from the '70's-'90's to gift my husband for his 50th last month. It. Is. GORGEOUS. These are such treasures - what a gift to preserve and honour God's Word in this way for our present and future family members!
