I caught that too. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. As a 40 something year old, I can say first hand he definitely doesn't have the mentality or maturity of a 40 year old who's attracted to 18 year old kids. In the eyes of the law that "18 year old who's a senior in HS or in college" is technically an adult, but that child is most likely still a dependent on their parents taxes, has health coverage via their parents employer, and living at home. I also feel like those of who choose to still follow him aren't taking his heinous actions seriously because of his and the victims gender both being male. If he were a straight male doing the same things to multiple underage girls, he'd be scrutinized more in the public and held more accountable by his fans.

such a minor thing, but the absolute DISRESPECT of saying that Lauren Conrad has no business launching a beauty line when she's an OG beauty editor? like literally just a quick Google search of her will show you why it totally makes sense for her to launch makeup. he just has absolutely no respect for the women that made the beauty space what it is, and paved the way for him. he's an epitome of the way gay men will so often dismiss women because they think they have nothing to do with them.
@MrsBungle784 ай бұрын
I was going to comment the same thing! Lauren has been in the fashion/beauty space forever- she was an influencer before social media even existed. She went to FIDM, has been a trendsetter for years & her style is often used to describe a certain look eg. “Her look is giving Lauren Conrad vibes” to describe a “California girl next door” look…all of which makes it very much her business to create a beauty line! I don’t know who James Charles (who is a newcomer to the beauty industry) thinks he is, but it’s almost like he’s forgotten that not too long ago people would’ve said he had no business creating/wearing makeup because he’s a boy! Now he’s perpetuating the very thing he had to fight against.

ANYone yelling online at a literal 14 year old asking for “receipts” is mind boggling to me. They should be asking why an adult is even talking to them! This world is so backwards. I feel terrible for kids who are put through this when they aren’t even mature enough to have the coping mechanisms to deal with it. yes I feel this is something that people often do not stress enough when they address these situations, some do but many do not. it does not matter what the behavior of the child was like. it absolutely does not matter, because what happened to them was the exact same level of wrong regardless of how they acted in that situation. there is no "they were both wrong" when someone is violating a child. be pedantic if you want and say teenager but anyone who's got half a braincell and is over 20 knows that teenagers are still never fully developed regarding the way they process things like relationships, as well as just life in general. it is not more or less wrong just because one scenario makes you more uncomfortable to imagine. I don't care even if someone underage is putting their full effort into seducing you, you will always be 100% wrong if you take advantage of that. you are an adult and it is a very basic responsibility for you to not engage inappropriately with people who are not mentally capable of fully consenting to someone who has such a power imbalance with them.

Who else is happy celebrity worship is being dismantled? Seeing that 14 year old frantically defend his truth against James' cult followers was soo upsetting 😢. I believe every word, you can tell when someone is telling the truth. His message to other minors was genuine. Shame on that girl claiming he lied about his age, sure some teens do that but that doesn't change the fact that he and his age was known on the Internet and trust and believe James knew that. Also if all these 30 somethings saw a pattern, Tati, James, Shane, WHY did they all apologize?? Afraid of getting sued? Because now we see it was true, he IS a predator, he has admitted wanting teenagers!! This gets me so angry that this 20 year old has all these older adults by the you know what. Everyone's afraid of his power so he's continued to get away with his horrible behaviour, just like other predators. This is upsetting😠. Take all these predatory, dangerous, violent, celebs down!!!

Deffinitely afraid of getting sued. I think at that time they did not have any definite proof of his behaviour, the busboy and coachella guy were of age and in their statements they were sometimes going back and forth (making claims and then retracting them) so it made them look not very credible (if to be used later i.e. at tiral). I think it was like Tati said: she thought there will be testimonies and victims coming forward, but nothing happened. So now they made their statements in which they have accused him of specyfic things, but have no way to prove it.

@AliceBunny05Ай бұрын
I'm always immediately very skeptical of adults who say things like this. I can understand it if it is a teenager because they sometimes don't yet have the perspective to understand that the gap is so large it's unable to be ignored. Like you are an adult, I KNOW you can feel that gap in maturity, in understanding, in processing, in experience when you're interacting with a teenager or kid. I won't sit here and let you act like it's something easily ignored because it really isn't, so where does that leave you as someone who's trying to excuse that inappropriate behavior? Either it happened to you and you don't want to accept that you were treated wrongfully, or you secretly like the idea of that inherent (and gross) power dynamic.

I wanted to throw up when Jeffree Star brought up BLM, knowing he's racist. It was also pretty disgusting to hear him talk about James Charles being a monster when he has done worse things. It's not a case of 'oh, you don't have to like him for him to be right. No, it's a case of he should have been in jail for all his sexual and physical assaults already. I thought that before this video and I hadn't even heard about the homeless teenager. As for why James Charles still has fans that cheer him on? Trash clumps together. I feel like the thing with James is that he intentionally seeks out a super young audience that doesn't really have the maturity and experience to understand why so many of the things he does are horrible. That's probably why he also seeks out minors for relationships as well. I think he is gonna keep getting away with it until this group of kids grows up. Unless he can evolve his persona I think he will hit a point where he is a 30+ year old visibly aging man acting like this and no one will find him charming or excuse his behavior anymore.

29:28 No offense but I don't care. James has no business being where children be at. This kid has thousands of videos probably any adult would peep he's a CHILD. If you can't confirm their not a child THEY ARE TOO YOUNG. This only happens when you're seeking children to begin with. Plenty of young people think having and older person like them is a flex, plenty of children think money is a flex, that still doesn't make them any less of a victim because again James had no business even approaching these KIDS.
@HolldollMcG4 ай бұрын
So James says he *knows* he is attracted to younger men and boys. Okay. That doesn't mean he gets a free pass to harass and abuse people. In fact, when you know you have a problem, you have the responsibility to get help for it. And maybe, for him, "help" looks like getting off the internet and into a therapist's office and remaining celibate for life. If your proclivities are criminal, then you have to deny yourself those proclivities.

I don’t usually comment under videos, even if they’re good. But I really have to say that this docuseries was IT. I initially found your channel because I wanted to know what’s going on with Nikita dragun. The episode you made about her was so professional and well researched that I was shocked. You brought actual evidence to the table and facts that maybe weren’t seen by the public eye. Even though I was never part of the beauty community, this whole James, Tati and Jeffree situation was kinda „popular“ back then. Seeing you working through the mess wasn’t only educational but very professional and entertaining. As a university student who has to write academic papers quite often I know how exhausting it can be if you do your research well, but it always pays off. And I can hereby testify that there hasn’t been any other Chanel so far that was able to do what you just did. You got all my respect for this ! I’ll definitely be sticking around waiting fore more projects of yours :)

I still think Tati is a good person. She may have made some mistakes and I know she has a lot of regrets, but of all the people involved in that drama she's the one that felt genuine to me. Her content makes me feel joyful and I think she's very skilled, so I continue to watch.
@freckledandred4 ай бұрын
I still feel like Tati was so screwed over in all of this. I know a lot of people don’t like her anymore but its obvious she’s a very emotional person and you know this just by watching her content and seeing how teared up she gets about seemingly small things, she also has a big heart for young people because she couldn’t have kids and is maternal towards them and they all knew this about her and used it to manipulate her and play with her empathy. It’s fucked up and I think we all owe her an apology
@averysspookshowspectacular62054 ай бұрын
I don't know if people who don't like her owe an apology, I mean, she did drop the ball on being the adult in the situation with James. But I do agree she isn't as bad as a lot of people made her out to be. Out of all the players, I believe her to have been the most manipulated and least guilty.
@jaybee41184 ай бұрын
@@averysspookshowspectacular6205yeah, honestly I agree. She didn’t deserve the hate that came to her, but she acted really badly in a lot of this. Her framing, and apparent understanding of what he was doing, was horrible and homophobic (he was trying to turn straight men gay, Tati, it’s harassment and nothing else). If she was so worried about his being predatory, the vitamins should have never come into it at all. My biggest problem with all of this is people got so caught up in the “turning straight men gay” and the vitamin thing before and after his receipts, they missed the harassment of it all. He was sexually harassing a poor waiter at the dinner and the guy who went to coachella with him.
@CatriChan4 ай бұрын
@@jaybee4118 I also think that the way she acted and handled the situation made it all unreliable. She lashed out only after the SugarBearHair promo, so it looked like she was "fine" with his behaviour until she wasn't "backstabbed" by him. Even in the Bye Sister she made it look like she mostly cared about the fact, that he was acting out in front of her friends and family ("and you did it at my birthday dinner). So it came out as she didn't much care as long as it didn't make her look bad. And later she retracted all that she said and claimed that she did not see any wrong or predatory behaviour from him and it was all a lie made by J* and SD. So you can't blame people that she did not think she is trustworthy in her statements anymore.
@simashakeri954 ай бұрын
yeah i think she's incredibly naive and easily manipulated and unusually fragile considering both her age and her influence - i think a step back and a lot of therapy would be good for her but i definitely think out of all the players here, she was the least deliberately cruel/spiteful.
@nancyseman27194 ай бұрын
I just have a problem with the fact she was so much older than everyone she was so "manipulated" by. She should have seen the cattyness and been like, I'm out. I just think all 4 people are very flawed humans that don't deserve the attention they get. Is she the least disgusting, absolutely. But to be near 40 at the time and get caught up in all of this was stunning.

Jen, I'm so glad you made this series, especially this video here. The other videos in the series touch on the topic of James and what he has done to people, but this truly highlights what James actually has done and the timeline of it all. I don't know how nobody has pieced if together this way before. I'm only 23 minutes in (gotta stop because life and such lol) but just wanted to say again, THANK YOU for all of this. I really hope this series blows up, specifically this video here. It deserves more attention. The things James Charles has clearly done (honestly all of these people, could you imagine a series about how terrible Jeffree is? Shane? Not to give any ideas but those would almost be too easy...) are so disgusting it blows my mind that James is still over here carrying on with his life and career like none of it happened. The whole situation between James, Jeffree, Shane, Tati... You would think would showcase how awful James has been, but because of everything else that happened in the context it was foreshadowed and never should have been. Now if anyone mentions the things James has done, the jerk reaction for most people is probably "Really? Again with this nonsense?" When in reality IT IS NOT NONSENSE. IT IS AWFUL. These victims really need to come forward in a legal matter and stop with the videos hoping they go viral. [SOME of them] have already come forward publicly, they really should do it legally. Enough time has passed from the Dramageddons that we can look past it all and see who James really is.
