The Judge is correct, I live in Miami and twice we have had to hire a contractor to rip the walls off because of the leaks from our tile roof from 2 major hurricane and just 1 month it rain so much because here in South Florida a summer storm is like a hurricane, for 2 hrs and then the sun and humidity comes back so we know very well about that.

That wasn’t years of accumulated dust, especially in an old house. We had ours done before we moved in, and that much dust is nothing! Ours was like 3cm thick! And there was stuff in it- little bits of wrappers, crayons, marbles, metal screws, earrings, etc.

condensing units and ducting always has mold and dust, anywhere. They all have to be cleaned even if not dusty. Mini splits are a good fix.

What a total bullcrap lawsuit. He just wanted someone to pay for his new ducts that he ended up having to do and then regretted even having them cleaned first.
@arianefr78

The plaintiff couldn't get a letter stating what he was claiming because it simply wasn't true and no other company is going to state something they can't back up, otherwise they become responsible and libel. If the ducts were that dirty how come he only had a tiny bit of 'dust' on his fingers, for all the fuss he was making I was expecting to see black mould...

You can never afford to do it right, but you can always afford to end up doing it twice. Don't go with the cheapest option. Get everything in writing and pay as you go based on work completed.

Absolutely right 100% learned this from my grandmother who has renovated her house and updated a lot of it. She did it piece by piece on her fixed income to get it done.

@@britt3795 Sounds like a smart woman Britt. I did much of the work myself (Kitch. and Bathroom.) It came out amazing. I went high end which was easy since it is a small condo. I really tried to find a good contractor but found most to be shady and all about making a quick buck. I did get lucky with two guys who were good as gold, but went through several others that I either rejected or fired. The painting contractors were by far the shadiest. Also, the guys who show up to give you the pitch are not the guys doing the work. Half the time, they pull them off the street. The painters put cheap paint in Benjamin Moore buckets. Their guys painted over my outlets, no prep work, etc. I did it myself and it came out really nice.
@britt3795
@britt3795 2 жыл бұрын
@@MOAB-UT thank you yes she really is. And yeah I've noticed the contractors will do watever they can to save a buck or make it as expensive as they can I just bought a home myself and have a few rooms I need to redo hopefully not as much as my grandmother did 😅 but I plan on buying the stuff I need myself and either doing it myself or if I don't know how to do sumthing finding sum1 I know and trust to do it or learning how to do it. Now painting I know I can do I learned that from a friend of mine how to do prep work and cutting in the corners.
@MOAB-UT
@MOAB-UT 2 жыл бұрын
@@britt3795 Congrats on the house. If you take your time, you can probably do more than you think. Just watch YTbe videos. You will save a tone of money. Buy top quality materials as they will last longer. What specific work do you need to do? Something like sheetrock can be tricky especially if there are lots of angles and corners, so I subbed that out. Same with the crown molding, most plumbing and electric. Other than that, I did most of the stuff myself and certainly the paint was easy and fun. Just doing the demolition alone will save you a lot of money. Make sure your guys are reg. and insured- ask for copies. If not and they get hurt, they will own your house. Also, do pull ALL permits if they are required. Talk with your town inspector- partner with them. Ultimately it is YOU, not your contractors who are liable and responsible for permits. Contractors routinely say that you don't need them when often you do. Ideally, have THEM pull the permit, again, get a copy. This way, they have more skin in the game. Most do not want to sign permits or provide proof of insurance. Avoid those guys. I would try to do most the work myself- much less headache and a feeling of pride as well.

I am a firm believer that social media killed dating. Most girls often have tons of guys flooding their inbox, so they always have options if the current relationship isn't perfect. Instead of finding a life partner and growing with them, they bounce around guy to guy seeing who can offer the most right now. I have some friends that are girls who basically do this for a living, no job, just getting a free ride until it gets boring then basically spinning the wheel to see who is next. Shit gives me some serious trust issues.

How does mold spread throughout an entire house? Mold lives on warm, MOIST surfaces.
@warrenmooney9422
@warrenmooney9422 7 ай бұрын
But the way it spreads is by releasing spores into the air. Those spores then hopefully land on other wet areas and grow and release spores. That's how mold reproduces.

Something wrong with construction, remodel,or some type of “improvement “ done on the plaintiff’s house. Probably not original construction but something done recently. Our friends had some kind of sealant or insulation(?) work done and it created an environment that cause mold to grown in a closet, which got on clothes, purses and shoes as well as the closet walls and, I think, also behind the closet walls. They had the “improvement” material removed, remediated the mold and everything is back to normal, i.e., mold free.
