In Nigeria, whether you're a christian or muslim, you are in deep trouble if you become atheist...same here in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia..

I grew up in Nigeria and moved to the US as an adult. I've always been skeptical towards religion. I resent the fact we were made to go to islamic school in the evenings 5 to 6 days a week (after attending secular school in the day). I wish that time was spent in tutoring in math and science. I really struggled in school in my younger days. I am a closeted atheist today. Both my parents are very religious. Religion is a no-no in my dating life. I refuse to do that to my future kids.

I wonder what contradictions he‘s talking about... I respect his view but there’s a lot that’s missing for me in terms of him believing in evolution because of the contradictions in evolution itself.
@@djrx2 Would have accepted this Wikipedia reference if had gone into depth (especially when it comes to Bible texts) in the context, etc.. It doesn't address the history that led to the different "versions" of the Bible, nor does it address. I really would love to talk to him and discuss some of the issues he seems to have. I doubt he knows much world history especially when it comes to the influence of the Jesuits on the thinking of people like him...

Theo Schöndube "believing in evolution" We don't need to believe in Evolution. There is a LOT of evidence for it. There is no decent evidence for any gods.
@theoschoendube3 жыл бұрын
Samiam 666 there’s no scientific evidence for evolution just as there is no scientific evidence for God, hence it being called a theory.

@@theoschoendube Let me be very clear. I know you aren't a scientist, because you just said the stupidest thing there is. Please go look up what a "scientific theory" is. In science it almost literally means the exact opposite of what you think it means. A scientific theory needs to be consistent with ALL of the evidence. If it is not, it is immediately dismissed. Let me explain further. Gravity is ALSO a theory. Now it happens to be a fact that gravity is happening. What the "theory of gravity" is about, is WHY it is happening. What specifically causes it. The same is true of Evolution. It is a fact that Evolution is happening. It is well documented. There are thousands of scientific papers that support it. it is only disputed by people like you who seem to have never opened a book. But the THEORY of Evolution revolves around WHY it is happening. As a matter of fact, there is so much evidence for Evolution that there is a saying in the scientific community: "you would have to be an idiot NOT to believe in Evolution." Evolution is supported by 97 % of the scientific community. These are the people who actually do science that shows Evolution to be true. You can do a Google Scholar search for "evidence for Evolution". There are about 2 million hits. Good luck with that. Or you could read one of hundreds of books that lay out what our evidence is for Evolution. You have done none of these things. Of this I am quite sure.
