My experience had been so similar. As a Black American and ex Christian it is very difficult. My family is all Christian. Thankfully we're not close in proximity or relationship. I honestly don't want to hear it.

Hinduism apologetics are nearly identical to Christian apologetics. You can *never* get free by reading every scripture in Brahminical Hinduism because the Brahmin gurus are churning out "holy books" via student scribes every year. There's no way to read all the mythology fanfic being churned out. That goes for every religion. Apologetics is a trap. You will have to embrace the idea that you have seen enough to make a rational decision to leave.

God founded one religion only, because there is only one God. The Devil founded many cults in order to divert people from God's religion. JW is one of these cults.

This definition of a cult being "any group that will not let you leave with your dignity intact" seems extremely relevant. I'm a Catholic, by the way.

All the idiots in the comments provide valid reasons to leave Hinduism. It is like every religion just a religion that happens to also claim that it is a way of life. In Hinduism cleanliness is a virtue but never an actual action.

Hindu atheism or non-theism, which is known as Nirīśvaravāda (Sanskrit: निरीश्वर्वाद, nir-īśvara-vāda, lit. "Argument against the existence of Ishvara") has been a historically propounded viewpoint in many of the Astika (Orthodox) streams of Hindu philosophy

Great to hear from Hannah again. Her story helped me to step into the light of atheism. I also became a humanist (once again due to hearing Hannah's story on 'Unbelievable'). I hope her health is a lot better these days and that she's managed to avoid getting infected with SARS-CoV-2.

It happens when you research. Well there is the ability to research outside of what Pastor Bob tells you on Sunday as well. And this is what I tell my own subs all the time, even the Christian ones I have. You have the ability to research for yourself. When an apologist makes one of these "evidence" claims, go out and fact check him. Do that to Strobel's apologist claims and you'll find bad speculation and many times flat out untruths that he never bothered to check. Craig states we have evidence of the empty tomb. Actually, we don't and the only ones who think that with the Holy Sepulchre are his fellow apologists. If you research you will find not one single recorded anything about a resurrection from anyone who knew Yeshua--from Jews, Christians, Romans, friends, enemies or neighbor down the street. Secularists mentioned he existed and was surrounded by a superstition. No one said they believed it outside of bible text which is unprovable. Cheers, DCF

There are Egyptian snakes and then there is Moses’s snake: Letter in anyone involved with Oneness teaching: This issue is vital because one group is antichrist according to the Apostle John in 1John 4:1-6, and one group is the real deal: Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Also, VERY IMPORTANT, please note the words: “Jesus Christ is come IN the flesh” in this passage. Here is what John meant by that:And the Word was MADE flesh and dwelt among us…John1:14 1John 4:1-6 IS NOT saying that God merely ENDWELT flesh here, as oneness ppl teach. Or he would be contradicting what he said in John 1:14. This the BIG issue. There are Egyptian magician snakes, and there’s Moses’s snake, which one is the snake made from truth? John in these 2 places gave us the ONE test needed to find out whether all these calling themselves “Christ” aka “Christians” really are Christians or not. First: it must be established that the Son is more than a “nature” , “bodysuit”, or “humanity”. Oneness will say that Christ’s 2 natures were mutually exclusive, and each consiously self aware. But a “nature” is not self aware. Not only this, but this so-called “human nature” of Christ(the Son) claimed the Father had His “own self” that the Son did not have! So, what Oneness ppl are calling a “nature” the Scripture calls a “self”. A “self” is a person…bingo. A ”person" does not have to have a body to be a "person". A person is a being/spirit that is self aware. Now check this out(look for the word "self"): Father: And now, O Father, glorify thou me with >thine own self< with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. John 17:5 Son: I can of >mine own self< do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5:30 So also Christ glorified not >himself< to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. Heb.5:5 Spirit: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of >himself<; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13 In my story of deliverance the first thing I noticed when the basket trap over my head began to unravel, was that some places in Scripture said God had been seen, and others said He had never been seen. And this is the 2nd piece of evidence I now share with you: Is this “self” merely human(is the Son a mere man)? Some places in Scripture say God has been seen, and others said He had never been seen. If you believe the "oneness" concept of God it forces the Bible to contradict itself here, but if you believe the Trinitarian concept of God the contradiction goes away. Here is why: according to Scripture the face of the Father has never been seen literally, He has only been seen by proxy, yet the Son has literally been seen. God is Spirit and has never been seen: (John 4:24, John 1:18, 1John 4:12a). God the Father HAS NEVER literally been seen(John 6:46, John 5:37, 1Tim. 6;13-16). God HAS BEEN seen(Gen. 18, Ex. 24:10-11, John 1:14, Acts 20:28, 1John 1:1-3). If the Son is only God in the sense that the Father ENDWELT him which is "the bodysuit"(Oneness teaching) then we have only ever seen God by proxy or figuratively. We have never literally seen God(which Ex. 24:10-11 among other places says literally happened) nor could the Word which was God have actually been MADE flesh and blood in reality, as this would mean God HAS actually BEEN SEEN, nor could He have actually been HANDLED which the Word says He was(John 1:14, Acts 20:28,1John 1:1-3). 1John1:1-3 says that, that ETERNAL life which was WITH the Father has been both seen AND HANDLED, this is not figurative language. This passage is saying that there was an eternally existing individual or "life" who was WITH the Father whom they, the believers at the time, both literally saw and handled. Here is the passage: 1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: … I pray that this post is a blessing to you and to all who find it and read it. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Amen. PS. See Sam Shamoun here on KZbin for a true understanding of what Isa. 9:6 means regarding Christ when the Word calls Him “everlasting Father”. While Sam is off on other topics his understanding of Isa. 9:6 is spot on, and very well expressed using only SCRIPTURE. And remember this: Christ NEVER said even one time that He IS the Father. He did say “I and My Father are one.” and, “when you see me you’ve seen the Father.”, this is not the same as saying “I am the Father”. I and my husband are one, when you see me, you’ve seen my husband. Christ is the ARM of the Lord(Isa.53:1) like sheriffs are the ARM of the law. One body many members.

Pentecostalism has messed up your ability to trust Jesus. I still maitains anything pentecostal is aberrent and heretical. What they attribute to or "acuse" the Holy Spirit of has no limit! And that is the start of deception and a downward spiral! Everything built on their supposed mis-interpretation that God operates throught tge Holy Spirit today in the same as at Pentecost!!

God has a plan for your life. With those phrases they do catch and manipulate people for their believe system - later on you find lots of those phrases and they do not fulfill what they use to promise you once. Religions do only work out with lots of brainwashing and manipulations on people. I am sick and tired about that nonsens.

I was born into it and gave talks as a child. I was never really part of it though. It was just this boring thing that I thought was stupid but it was the world's easiest school lessons and it was easy to know the answers, even though I thought they were weird and ignored everything in my daily life. I loved singing hymns in primary school and loved doing the Christmas activities in class, which the teachers let me do despite my mum telling them I wasn't allowed. The end came when I was 12 where I decided I had to commit to one life. I asked the elders if they could demonstrate that the bible was true without using the bible. They couldn't. I left.

The only thing I actually agree with about the witnesses is the blood transfusion issue as I have a lot of medical knowledge and having blood transfusions really are not necessary and can, 9 times out of 10, be far more detrimental than beneficial. The sad thing about ex Jews is that all of a sudden they become total believers in other cults such as the medical system cult, as opposed to researching this stuff.

I used to look after one of the largest Christian bookstore sections on (theology philosophy academic etc etc) Christianity is utterly polluted with delusional ideas but don’t worry people because the news is good ! The only way to understand the biblical texts is through the lens of the many verses that speak of universal salvation ! (Only in Paul in the NT for a reason) and scattered throughout the OT, And the Christians are in for a shock ! I believe the actual truth is lots of ordinary people will be going through those pearly gates way before the Christians ! (and there’s a verse on that) see Martin zender’s videos against the evil empire of Christianity
