I wish BMW could move away from this idea of having the twin kidney grill on EVERY model. It works for gas vechicles because it serves a purpose, unlike an ev. While I don't like the Neue Kiasse X's fake grille, I like what BMW did with the splitter at the bottom, giving it that separated, almost twin kidney like look. If BMW could somehow incorporate a twin kidney inspired graphic to the battery intake, I think it could seriously improve their ev designs. That way, the twin kidney design has a purpose for any type of vehicle powertrain

in my opinion that super wide grille in the Sedan kinda seems like the whole front from an E30, maybe even E36 era squished into the kidneys it feels like if we could have erased the last 30 years of BMW design, and replaced it by something else that just kept evolving the E30, E34, E38 look without any massive revolution like Bangle's work, or whatever happened in late 2010's - by today we'd still land in the same place As for the X, the additional grille does seem even closer to the classic look in my opinion (though its even earlier models like the 2002, E3 or E9), while on the other hand it seems like a transformation phase from the current-day Beavers like the outgoing 3/4 Series or the iX, into the classy Beamer again, like what the Neue Klasse sedan is

2:04 You do know how braindead easy it is to squeeze massive power for a battery and electric motor, right? I mean, the battery was already big in order to accommodate the range figures they need. They just had to slap in an electric motor that could actually generate the full power the battery is capable of producing, and they're good. If they produced less power, the range would take a hit as well because it's a smaller battery. Advances in battery chemistry will change this, allowing for better high performance and long range chemistries, but that's going to be the pattern for at least another 5-6 years. Edit: Besides, you also need to consider the market an EV M sedan is entering. It'd be in direct competition with rivals such as the RS GT e-tron, Porsche Taycan Turbo, Tesla Model S Plaid, and many other performance EVs with massive horsepower numbers. Against such formidable adversaries, boatloads of horsepower are a necessity when all of your rivals are doing exactly the same thing. Tesla already set the trend. There's no stopping it. Also, on a slightly unrelated note, apparently BMW's solution to make their M EV fun to drive is to implement a system like the one in the Ioniq 5 N, which I think is a good thing. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, am I right?

4 motors, one for each wheel, will bring unprecedented potential in terms of tourque vectoring. No ICE car can achieve anything similar no matter how good the differentials are. I suspect cornering will be amazing, not just straight line acceleration. Regarding the design, both of these are a big breath of fresh air, (quite literally). Event the X looks ok. The sedan has a wide, planted stance, while the X emphasises its higher stance, space. And yes, the low side windows are great, finally someone brings back the light into the cabin. I am sick of all modern designs where the glasshouse is smaller and smaller. Now they are even removing the rear window (Polestar, Jaguar), ffs.
