I would highly recommend you read even an introductory book on critical and logical thinking. That will give you at least a base level of knowledge to realize Ben Shapiro is highly fallible and many of his arguments/statements are easily debatable and some are just down right bad logic.

Well it is a big problem so that needs to be discussed. We do have significant amount of disphoric people and we have to coexist with them but those disphoric people need to stop confusing everyone and complicate things that are really not complicated at all. There will always be confused people but that does not not mean everyone will have to play along with their confusion, it will only make things worse in the future. Especially when confusion spreads into every field of society it’s going to be a mad house.

@@Bewefau Someone born with a birth abnormality doesn't in any way refute the fact that men and women are two distinct, easily distinguishable forms of humans and that those two forms are defined by a set of universal, consistent traits. I'm sure you could find a person born without a limb. Does that mean we don't describe humans as having four limbs? Since when do you define an entire species or gender based on birth defects? If someone has a dick, then you can safely bet 99.99% of the time that person is a dude. If someone got a bunch of surgery to look like a woman but still has a dick, they are still a dude.

I am a white woman, born to a 17 year old mother. My first years were poor, however, my mother decided that boyfriends and going out to party could wait and she enrolled in college. The welfare system was not what it is today. It was strictly medical, foodstamps and a cash stipend once per month. she busted her hump, going to school everyday. This meant getting up at the crack of dawn to get me to a sitter and getting to school 2 towns away. She did this whether she was tired, sick, or whatever. She did it until she earned her college degree. Not only a degree, but a teaching certificate on top of that. She didn't have the luxury of saying that because of her culture she couldn't succeed.

As a transgender individual, I completely agree with Ben. Wearing a dress, makeup, developing a female voice through practice and practicing feminine mannerisms are not factors of gender. These behaviors help alleviate a dysphoria rooted in psychology but do not, in any way make you more female than wearing mens clothes and having a fluffy mustache. It can be really hard for any transgender to hear anything that affects their sense of femininity/masculinity, but our feelings and biases don't change science. I think it's important for transgender individuals to realize what they are and what they're not. I mean, how long has the definition of gender been "sex when considered socially or culturally"? If the definition is so subjective and vague, you could literally call yourself anything and it would probably be medically recognized these days, lol

I am constantly amazed how woefully ignorant college students are about history, economics and politics. The one student promoting Mao and Stalin shocked me at his lack of understanding of just how horrible these 2 men actually were. AND, when Ben tried to point this out, the student talked over him and refused to listen. What benefit is there, acting like an idiot?

Y’all are slowly becoming the third world country you’re afraid of. It even shows in the level of politicians you guys keep electing time and time again. He is giving them confidence to stand up for what they believe in and have a voice and opinions in politics and our nation and world as a whole. It's beautiful to see. When I was younger it was nowhere near this open for young adults to share opinions on politics especially in such an open way. Ben also is always accepting of the questions and opinions of these kids and debates respectfully rather he agrees or not with you. Fallacies have no place in real arguments and should only be used to learn how to debate. Those who use fallacies aren't intelligent and only use them as a cheat because they aren't capable of critical thought. A fallacy is an attempt to catalogue common errors. Think of it like [x + y] = z or [a - b] =/= c where z, c are fallacies. In an argument you need to prove that adding x and y is equal to z. You can't just state "what you said equals z". It is equivalent to writing a math test and not showing your work. It becomes extremely evident you needed a calculator for basic addition but it is also impossible to know whether or not you actually know the answer, or guessed it. If you do that you aren't winning the argument. 1. An argument with a "fallacy" can still be correct 2. There's no way of knowing if the person calling out the fallacious argument actually knows what they are talking about 3. The only response to "that's a fallacy" is "no it's not [restate points]" I figured this out before learning about it but for anyone who isn't capable of critical thought you can look up the fallacy fallacy. For example: "that's the authority fallacy" should be "authority figures aren't always right and there is evidence that..."

@@WitchHunter93 science? Sure it does. It makes more sense to feel like something other than a gender. What he basically said is that, if gender and sex aren't tied together at the root, then why use gender to describe someone at all? The concept of gender doesn't even have to exist for someone to behave how they're comfortable behaving. In my opinion, the bigger issue is anyone identifying themselves by a gender, sex, race, sexuality, etc. Is there nothing else in their lives? A person is defined by their accomplishments. None of those things are accomplishments. They should turn all that attention into developing personal skills that are beneficial to themselves and others.
@juxtaposed4037
@juxtaposed4037 2 жыл бұрын
@@WitchHunter93 everything in our society these days has become political, in one way or another. Knowing that, I can agree with him. Transgenderism wasn't even really a big thing or widely accepted within the medical community until recently and the only reason I believe it did is because those within that community feared backlash. Its nothing unheard of either really, like during the holocaust there were doctors in germany who played into the politics there and said jews were inferior to germans and pushed that agenda.
@daemetheus
@daemetheus 2 жыл бұрын
@@juxtaposed4037 Neither was being homosexual (watch 20th century documentaries about "The Homosexual" who is somehow also attracted to young boys). It's still a "given" in certain communities that one can willfully choose what they find attractive. A particular thought experiment is: What if some magical medical process was used upon you that changed your biology to an opposite gender? 1) Are you still your original gender or the new biological one? 2) You've had X years living the life of the original gender; what does that mean and how does it translate to living your life in this changed body? Are you still internally one gender and externally another? I argue it's less activism and more about constant progress in psychology and similar fields of science, and how we create a sense of self-identity and what we want to be recognized as due to our social needs. Nobody is taking away someone else's rights, and is instead adding additional rights, and thus needs to have a political component. Where is there a problem with this?

Scientists and doctors around the world, including countries that are far better educated than America, agree that transgenderism isn't a mental disorder, it's simply how that person's brain patterns are 'wired.' A recent study corroborates previous studies that show that transgendered individuals have similar brain patterns to those who's sex they identify with. Fact of the matter is, this is not something that should be political as there is zero reason for it to be. A person's health, mental or physical, should be between them and their doctor and no one else. Transgendered individuals are shown to have similar levels of ptsd as African Americans who have grown up in the United States, as well as those who have grown up in the Middle East, while transgendered individuals who grow up in countries such as Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland are found to have much lower suicide rates and mental health disorders.

Its hard to remember all of his points, when your speaking turn starts and then you realize your fucked up, while you could have answered to every single one, if the person let one point you talk and answer his one statement and then he would countinue with his other points.

I mean, sort of. Ben is extremely articulate and he's really good at undressing an argument that's dressed up to sound intelligent. Like the guy who asked him how he reconciled being pro 1A but didn't want CRT to be taught in school. That was honestly a good question on the surface, but Ben broke it down immediately and made it very clear that he's not against it being taught as an elective college class but rather he's against it being a required course in public schools; and not because it taught about the ugly side of America but because it teaches that America's institutions were founded and designed to oppress minorities, which is an opinion, not a fact. How many conservatives do you know that are able to articulate why they're against CRT that quickly?

I think Ben is pretty darn good with his train of thought....he seems to know exactly what to say to defend his point of view. I think if you get him one on one and if you can manage to irritate him with what everyone knows irritates someone like him, then he loses it and go on weak tangents. We saw that happen already but with time and less caffeine maybe he’ll have victory over that.

Guess I was lucky that college was not for me or who knows what I would be like now. The right messed up allowing the liberals to take over our education system. The youth are our future you’d think we would have been more aware of what was going on in the schools but alas we just let them poison our kids. It’s the first part of the Marxist plan and it’s been going on for much more than a generation. Kids have been fed this woke, American hating garbage their whole life and now we’re in the final stages of the takeover. If we don’t stand up to this madness we will see America fall. How long can we stand when 1/2 the population is being call domestic terrorist, white people are evil and irredeemably racist and our government is being staffed with a bunch of far left commies who want to rewrite the Constitution to fit their twisted world view.
