A better utilisation of space for the S95 bergen is to move the top lid to the front of the bergen, thus making a basha pouch. This will complement the outer front appearance of the S95 and offer better access. In upcoming videos I will scale the former spacing with a more usable construct for this quite frankly out dated bergen....bexbugoutsurvivor

Wonderful ! Over time your confidence will grow, and the focus will change to making the neatest job possible. My mantra is, "the next stitch must be better than the last." Never set time aside to do something, do it while you watch TV, where time is not a pressing issue. Never set a dead line to complete the project, put it down when you feel frustrated, and pick it up again later on, or even another day....Mind focus is just as important as the actual project.....good luck ...bex

Great Job there Bex. When I'm disposing of any worn or ripped Bergens i normally remove some straps as well as the QR Buckles but never thought about un-stitching the pouches. Food for thought mate!!

Just stripped down a worn bergen, and filmed a project for it. Won't be seen for a few months tho....🙄

turned out good .... i tried to recycle a lid pouch, but found it was very curved, ... goofed the stitching, lost my patience and took it off and binned it, lol

hiya bex im not sure if you have seen the berghaus MMPS CRUSADER front loader it looks like an incredible burgen im wondering if this is an idea to buy a cheaper 90l burgen and also modify it to be front loading

The lid is designed to be removed completely, this allows capability to still carry the basha externally. The lid modification will be seen on a future tailoring video, and all will fall in to place for you....

For a bug-out bag my personal preference is to use 2 mats. The Highlander Nato 5 season foam mat (not very good on its own), but married up with the Multimat adventure 38 is warm and comfy, both affordable and durable. The foam roll I put (on top) of the air pad. Both go into the gore-tex bivvy bag, leave the sleeping bag unzipped use it upside down, and pop your feet in the bottom, so it acts like a blanket that covers your head, (Toasty warm) For tent camping I used the ther-a-rest X-therm Max, 7.8 R value, but it was very expensive..... Are the plans for the lid mod still happening? Can't find in your play list . I've seen another video of a guy planned on removing the lid and wanting to put straps on the rear of lid (closest to your head) so you could really conpress the main body. He found to do that he would have to lose a ¼ of his pouch . Was on a gulf war bergan all olive

Face palm!!! I show a variety of modifications, so viewer can choose which one they may consider tailoring. Perhaps I should buy 7 bergens to demonstrate 7 modifications....Unlike other channels I never beg anyone to sub or watch. Just saying
