In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Berrien County, Georgia, faced unprecedented devastation. EMA Emergency Manager Sandy Mizell shares her heartfelt appreciation for Team Rubicon's Route Clearance Team and their vital assistance in helping her community recover.
"Hurricane Helene is the worst storm we've had to deal with," says Sandy. "It really devastated our community."
Recognizing the overwhelming need, Sandy reached out for help. "I saw that our local department crews were overwhelmed with clearing debris, so I put in a WebEOC request to our team at headquarters, and they got us a chainsaw strike team down here-that is you guys."
Team Rubicon's Route Clearance Team has been instrumental in clearing roads and restoring access. "Within minutes, they'd be heading to the blocked roads, and soon after, I'd get a message saying, 'We've got you, it's cleared.'"
