Of all the sobriety KZbin channels I resinate with your videos the most. I too was a 1 to 2 bottle of red wine per night 20 year drinker. I'm only on day 6 atm. I'm loving all your videos and I love the fact you don't push your coaching down people's throats, alot of other channels just seem like a pitch for them to make business. 😊

The AA approach of being a victim I truly believe is why I struggled to quit years ago as i called them and attended a few meetings thru those past 11 years n it just made me feel worse! Right up to last sept still being told that was the only way....but i found a different approach thanks to finding brilliant people like you online....n its sticking!! 98 days!!!!❤

I can go a few weeks max then I binge. I’m lucky if it’s one day but usually leads to 2 or 3 then I’m ill and full of regret for days. I need to get past that magic few weeks but when you feel ok you get get drawn into to thinking you can have a normal drink.

I'm three days sober and I'm actually feeling quite good! It's interesting that you liken being alcohol free to being vegan. I went vegan two years ago, and you're right. I don't feel like I'm missing out one bit, I feel enlightened and powerful for making a strong moral decision. I'm approaching going sober in the same way as when I went vegan, and it's working! Simon, maybe you should give veganism a shot, it has changed my life for the better in so many ways, and I'm hoping going alcohol free will complete that process permanently.

I’m probably not an alcoholic in the sense that most people think of it. However, I’d rather consider myself an alcoholic and stay sober than to say I’m not and live in drunken delusion.

I loved listening to this but I am still all gloom & doom without alcohol. I was AF for two weeks and my depression never subsided. I did lose just under 12 pounds in weight after the two weeks but because of my low mood, I caved in & went to the supermarket after work one day.....:-(

Hi Beth, first, don't be hard on yourself. 2 weeks is a very good start! The sober journey can take a while to to master. It's like learning to play a musical instrument. You don't just pick it up and start playing masterworks. It takes practice. And it takes a fair amount of time for the brain to rebalance. Give it another try!
