Excellent idea. Love the differentiation. The product I'm developing has a very strong emotional element to it so I've already created a poem that will be included. That will not be part of the product insert. I think doing a poem for the product insert as well might be counter-productive in my case. Definitely going to work out if I can make it work. Otherwise will def use the idea in future products

This is a brilliant idea. I just shipped inventory to amazon and wrote poem; got rid of the thank you card. Hopefully i will get more reviews. I am a new seller. Have only 15 organic reviews from the 1st shippment of inventory. Thank you for doing video.

Hi Sumner. I just wanted to get back to you. I ran with your idea of a poem which is absolutely brilliant. I listened to your video late afternoon and I had my rather well polished poem completed by about 9:30pm that night. But something happened when the words were reflected back to my head. I looked at my "poem" and suddenly I saw the lyrics to a song. It just basically hit me like a ton of bricks. Yes, I absolutely have an unfair advantage in that my son is a music producer. I phoned him the next day and he immediately started humming a tune... in a couple of weeks, he had the rough sketch of the music not yet with words... then came the blending of words to notes... now he is adding orchestral sounds... in a few days we will have a female vocalist laying down her tracks... he will still blend in his voice as well... and well, bottom line, I have been blown away. My product lends itself to this spinoff. So, on the product insert we will have the lyrics written out.. I will have my graphic artist embellish with graphics to convey that this is a song that the QR code can send them to if they wish... plus I will have the QR code to take them to the review page.. I will update you as this develops... I would love to get your reaction!!!

Nancy, wow - thank you for sharing and great to hear! Something that would be REALLY unique is if you uploaded a video of you and your son singing the song and include the link on the product insert with some text that says "we made a song for you". Just a thought but let me know how everything goes! Great example of clearly standing out from your competition.

​@@sumnerandali Hi Sumner. I have already had the insert card created with the lyrics plus 2 QR codes. One code will send the customer directly to the music. The 2nd QR code is at the bottom and it will direct the customer to the review page on Amazon. The plan is that the customer will be too curious about the music and will be drawn to pull his phone out to scan... After the musical experience, the idea is that it will be easy for the customer to "flow" and want to leave a great review. Yes, I do also have a creative videographer on my "team". I had already been thinking along this line of doing a video. However, it will probably incorporate the other elements of my theme. It would be cool to have shots of my son with his guitar interspersed throughout the video "story". I am eager to reveal my product and music, but I need to wait until the music has been fully mastered and polished. Your poem idea is very, very powerful...

Great idea! I've never seen this on an insert, its worth a shot. Especially of the poem can entertain or make the person laugh, you've already added value and made them more likely to scan your manychat link or leave a review.

Hi Caroline! This is sort of a gray area because Amazon doesn't want you diverting sales traffic from the Amazon platform, however, you're not technically doing so by offering an ebook and not directly selling. It's ultimately up to you and your risk tolerance. For our own products we aren't worried.

Hi, really find your videos very informative. I have a question regarding product inserts. Would it be ok to insert a warranty card in which the customer needs to fill it in online and include their e-mail address and amazon order #. I', considering including a warranty but it could be a grey area. Warranty would be lined to a page on my website

It depends on your risk tolerance but personally I wouldn't have a problem doing with with my own products.

Tao, great to hear you found the video valuable! If you have product variations these can all (potentially) use the same code/ link. For different products I recommend a different link as the lead magnet/ wording used in the flow will be different. I hope this helps!

I will be adding a QR code to my insert card that will take the customer to an entertaining story for the child product that I sell on Amazon. As long as you are enhancing the buying experience, it is white hat. I even called Amazon and told them what I was planning on doing, and the representative actually loved the idea. So if you are directing your buyer to something that adds and enhances their product then it is actually welcomed by Amazon. No gray hat here!

"Gift" meaning a 10% - 20% coupon code or ebook. I give the code and/ or warranty, video guide, ebook, and then ask for a review later. The two are unrelated.

Hi Juljuni! Yes, you are allowed to use product inserts but you just need to make sure you abide by Amazon's rules i.e not diverting sales traffic to an external website, incentivizing reviews, asking for positive reviews, etc.

Wow, love this idea. I currently sell a product and my audience is pregnant women. I think I will add a baby type quote to mine. I love Canva, I also use Promo to make my own videos. I've saved so much money.
