THANK YOU FOR THE AMERICAN DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS !!!!!

I’m with you on how easy it is to go to Target and grab a solid SPF. My HGs are Korean but sometimes being able to stroll into the drugstore and get a nice one is so convenient. Wondering if we’ll get a SPF from Prequel next year? 🙌🏻

Would love love love to see you rank affordable sunscreens at Ulta, another for Walmart, another for Target, etc… making it a series😂

I went for the Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch! Thanks for the tips, I’m a grease ball so anything that’ll help keep my face from lookin like the floor of an Arby’s is always helpful 😁👍

Love the light as hair sunscreen! You can use the bigger body one for your face too! I do because it’s big and cheap and I like it 😂

Is the body one the same texture as the face?
@vincent_223211 ай бұрын
@ I’ve never tried the face but I have oily acne prone skin too and I’ve never had an issue with it! It just straight melts into my skin in 5 seconds and never leaves a shine on me!

yup i do the same!

@I've tried both and saw no significant difference :) I always get the body one off of Amazon for the price point and the texture.

This was my year for Japanese and Korean sunscreens! The winner was Nivea UV Super Water Gel! I also love innisfree's Daily UV Defense Sunscreen for the office. For my body, I enjoyed Neutrogena's Beach Defense when I wanted some fragrance, and I am enjoying Paula's Choice Extra Care, Non-Greasy Sunscreen for a fragrance free option.

I'm darker than you (like Caramel) so it's always hard for me to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn't make me look washed out, despite zinc oxide often being great when my skin is having a flare up. So if I pick an American sunscreen, I prefer mineral, otherwise it has to be a chemical sunscreen from another country (several American chemical filters wreck my skin). My favorite mineral sunscreen find this year and one of my favorite sunscreens of all time is Bubble's Plus One (tinted - green bottle). First mineral sunscreen that gives me 0 white cast!! Also works on my sister who's darker than me. & 40 SPF at that. It isn't a hydrating formula, and I would say it's slightly matte but still leans more towards a natural finish. It's divine. It's great but I usually wear a hydrating milky toner under it or a lightweight moisturizer as I feel like it doesn't provide enough moisture on its own. My dream mineral sunscreen would be the invisible nature of Bubble's Plus One but the emollient and calming formulation of Kinship's Self Reflect - which is one I always rebuy due to how well it calms skin, despite it having a grey cast on me (which I powder down). Skin type: I'm combination (more oily when I'm in the Caribbean/ more dry when in Scandinavia), acne prone and sometimes have dehydration.

I really liked the Byoma SPF. I'd get compliments on my skin when wearing it on my bare face as well. I'll be trying Naturium spf(s) next year.

After doing some digging and comparing packaging. I think the Hawaiian Tropic you reviewed they are marketing as “body” and the spf 30 is the “face” serum.

That Hawaiian Tropic is ah-mazing! It feels like their old face moisturizing sunscreen used to be, before they reformulated it to remove the oxybenzone I think? Anyway, this feels like that used to, and that used to be my favorite facial sunscreen.

Scoured the internet and I am 99% sure the Hawaiian Tropic SPF50 version is what they market as the “body serum” that comes in the 33 fl oz packaging, while the SPF30 version is the “face serum” and comes in 14 fl. oz packaging- obviously, body sunscreens can also be used for the face, just beware of fragrance if you’re sensitive :)

Thank you for showing us some good and affordable American sunscreens! 🤗 I like going to TJ Maxx or Marshalls to check out the sunscreens they put out before summer. The one I liked is the Bare Republic Clearscreen Sunscreen Lotion that I have found at TJ/Marshalls and also at Target. They have an SPF 100, which I really like, its $17.99 for 5 oz, it may be for the body but I use it on the face lol 😂 Another one I like are: Eucerin Age Defense Face Sunscreen Lotion - SPF 50 price: $15.99 for a 2.5 oz at Target.

What do you wear under your sunscreen
@beachlifeboy11 ай бұрын
I wear nothing underneath, not even moisturizer. Is there something i can apply to mattify the greasy mess?@
11 ай бұрын
Ok that would’ve been my first suggestion. What kind of sunscreen are you wearing. Aside from just using a blotting powder or blotting sheets, very few things will make you MATTE matte.

I wear mostly korean chemical sunscreens like the BOJ ones. But yes nothing much works. i tried to apply mattifying primers over my sunscreen but with little success.@

The light as air sunscreen sounds great but has anyone experienced any eye stinging with it since it's chemical based?
@heavenknows48578 ай бұрын
I have sensitive eyes, and light as air( big tube, not face) sunscreen hasn’t irritated my eyes like other US sunscreens. Only after many hours I noticed a slight irritation. Didn’t cause any skin problems when I feel asleep with it on my face!

Help!! When we buy Korean sunscreens from places like Yes style and stylevania , how do we know we are not getting expired sunscreens. The bottles/tubes are impossible to read, and they never have expiration dates. How can they be trusted? That is something we don’t have to worry about with American sunscreens……. But U S sunscreens don’t have the fantastic filters that European brands offer 😒
@VenLouie5 ай бұрын
they most definitely have expiration dates. if you see numbers with 까지 in it thats the exp date

A lot of the major drugstore brands aren’t super affordable anymore, but some of the bigger brands also utilize some interesting ingredient tech as well. A lot of the ones I mention here are below $15, and some even below $10
