Hey Matt, cheers for the review! It was a little tricky to make this program since I had to try to cram the progression into a 4 week period which, when you factor in a final deload, doesn't leave you much wiggle room! Typically I wouldn't program in too much complex/conjugate stuff within the first 4 weeks of starting a program, so I decided to leave it out of this one. I appreciate the pointers too and agree on all points! Mastering approach mechanics is probably the quickest way to add inches to your vertical and mobility work is absolutely essential! Once again, I much appreciate the shout out and hopefully some of your audience give the program a crack!

Would it be possible to stretch your Programm out and do the First Week 4 Times etc, and maybe kind of progressively overload because then it would be more effective right?
@A1AthleteOfficial
@A1AthleteOfficial Жыл бұрын
@@julikuhnt8158 There would be better ways to construct what would effectively be a 12 week program. Basically you want to keep progressing things over the weeks, so it doesn't make much sense to start over at week 1 2-3 times. But yes if you kept progressively overloading the exercises, you'd make decent progress for sure!

For Vert Shock- there is one day where they include uphill sprints, uphill squat jumps and a bunch of core exercises. I have just completed the program at age 34 and have got injured once (during uphill sprints... pulled my adductor on my right side) despite dynamic and cooldown stretches. They do not provide progressive plyo with the exception of the 3 phase division where it's only moderately easier in the pre-shock phase. The rest days are a little weird but I listened to my body and took them when needed (I train hard and push to failure when Im lifting and apply a similar approach to this) Im 5'9 and still cant touch the rim. I have a 25 inch vertical now and have gained 2 inches (actually 1.75") in the program. Their service is crap and takes them sometimes a 4 days to respond. Please dont fall for their 9 inch guarantee. This is almost as bad as air alert.

How should I change up the A1 Athlete program if I've built up a lot of strength already from lifting? Should I approach it any differently? How do I go about incorporating this into a 4 day/week powerbuilding program?

Love the scientific approach your program takes, looking at buying the 12 week. Can you give me your best rough guess for how much I can add? I'm 38, 5'9", played many sports my whole life, am at 22" standing and 26" max vert now. I have never worked out or trained just play bball twice a week. Is adding 6 or more inches realistic specifically for me? Thanks.

What do think about the Jump Manual? I know it's not free, I purchased it already, but now I'm questioning it. I'm not a basketball player, I just want the skill. I really appreciate your videos. I just discovered them. If only I had waited to purchase the Jump Manual. Now, I probably don't even need it after watching you.

I’ve been looking for a really comprehensive vertical jump program that won’t leave me broke and homeless and I’ve found it. I’ve been doing vertical jump training exercises myself for years now, I’ve become more explosive but remembering, picking and progressively overloading is a big problem for me. Your program is a 10/10. I’ll be getting your program today and I’ll follow it like the BIBLE! One question: I play pick up basketball 3 times a week, so I have only 3-4 days to train. What’s your advice since your program says 4 mandatory training and 2 option training sessions?
@TheMovementSystem
@TheMovementSystem Жыл бұрын
Nice! If you get 3/4 of the primary training sessions in then you’ll make great progress. That’s actually what I would recommend if you’re also playing a lot of pick up so you don’t overwork yourself. You can miss any of the 4 main training sessions as long as you hit the other 3 you’ll be fine.

Hey! I would like to purchase your program, but my beach volleyball season starts soon and I have 2-3 trainings per week. How would you recommend me to combine these 2 together please?

I would focus on phase 2&3 and skip the two optional days and go to sport practice instead

Question: When I go to the gym, usually 4-5 times a week, I’m mainly powerlifting focused (bench, deadlift, squat, OH press) but I also play volleyball for fun and am interested in improving my vertical for that reason. Would you recommend following this program after my usual workouts, or would this be too strenuous on my legs and tendons, especially in days where I train squats and deadlifts?
@jacobcleverly892

I have a similar question as well. I currently workout everyday with working chest and back on Mondays for example. If I were to do this program would you recommend that I continue my normal workout splits and add this on top of it or should I just stop my workout splits and do this by itself?
