Finally, someone who actually knows what free means. Other KZbin videos that show free vsts and libraries, but when you go to download you find it's not free after all. I'm still not happy with having to use kontakt for some of these.

My favorite free virtual instrument is ZynAddSubFX (or Zyn-Fusion). You can only find free binary distributions to the latest versions for Linux, though. If you want to get it on Windows, you either need to pay for it, or you can compile it from source. I have some experience with that sorta suff, so that's what I did.

Thanks loads for this video and for pointing me in lots of useful directions. I have been a "hardware" guy for years and have been rather skeptical about this side of music tech, until yesterday when I found what I could do with instruments on Cubase...a revelation - I was amazed at what even the standard things in my basic cubase package could do. I have a lot of learning to do but am looking forward to the journey!

@@AnotherProducer Hey AP, thanks for the reply... I have had such a lot of fun this evening after downloading FREE (I still can't believe it!) plug-ins - all vintage synth type stuff eg Mellotron, Solina, Moog, ARP. I'm having a blast! I spent 20 minutes playing Strawberry Fields on a FREE Mellotron. Such a cliché but it had to be done, just to get it out of my system! You have my gratitude and my subscription. Looking forward to watching more of your vids to help me on my way down this new route. Typical me...everyone is going hardware mad and I'm only just now discovering plug-ins. I always do everything in reverse!

Haha 😆 I am so glad to hear that you are enjoying those instruments. Sure analog synths are awesome but personally I don't have the money for a Moog/Juno/etc... So for free these digital ones are a useful alternative... 😁 And thanks for your subscription! It really means a lot 😊

Thank you for your suggestions. I was all ready using half of these and have to say I love them as well. I have all ready started downloading the others that I have not tried that you recommended. I wanted the Drum Mica but I could not justify 12GB of storage being eaten up by one instrument. Also I suck at using drums so most of my songs don't have drums or just a very very very basic drum beat. Any ways thank you again. Cant wait for more videos. Keep up the great work.

Great video, one problem I seem to have with Native instruments is their piano's like 'The Gentleman' seems to be at a low volume naturally. I don't know why this is, I mean obviously I have some master volume I can turn up to the max but even then it doesn't seem to be loud considering. Have you ever had this problem? It might be something to do with my midi keyboard maybe I don't know... I use the Komplete A49.

Hey man, I never really used Adobe Audition as I saw it more as an environment for only recording audio. But you cannot use MIDI for example. Maybe another software would be better for making music. However, you don't need to open the dll files. Put them in your VST folder. On windows most of the time it is C:/Program Files/Steinberg/VST, but maybe just check in the settings of Adobe Audition where it looks for VSTs. Cheers, Phil

@@ZachxZeph I don't quite get the question, sorry. Normally vocals are recorded in mono. But in Cubase for example you have to have a stereo track to use stereo effects. I think in ableton you can switch from a mono to a stereo track very easily, which you can't in Cubase. I don't know that much about ableton but maybe I can help you, if you rephrase your question :)

@@AnotherProducer sorry 😅 my reply was typo. What i meant was. Sometimes i record vocals the audio in the screen splits into two (up & down) i think its left and right(?) And also sometimes i just recorded with one audio coming from the screen i think thats mono? I dont really know what is it. Is it mono or stereo or idk. Cause im barely new on the DAW so i just click whatevers on the DAW HAHAHA
@AnotherProducer
@AnotherProducer 5 жыл бұрын
@@ZachxZeph Haha yeah that sounds like mono and stereo :D Mono is only one audio source and stereo has 2 different audio sources. If you want to record in stereo you need 2 microphones. If you record your vocal you probably use only one mic and therefore both sources (left and right channel) contain the same information. As I said I don't know how it works inside of ableton, but in Cubase I have to use a stereo track to use stereo effects, like for example a ping pong delay on my mono source. But you can easily try it out yourself I suppose :)

Massive and Serum are both not FM Synthesizers - they are Wavetable Synthesizers, which can modulate via FM but as far as the method of synthesis is concerned they are not FM Synths. But FM7, Dexed and Citrus are true FM Synthesizers.

I actually have no experience with free daw's... If you really enjoy making music I recommend you to just buy a (cheap) daw like cubase elements. You'll also need a cable to connect your keyboard with you computer. Aannnd if you buy a DAW you can do lots more then just using these sounds.

@AnotherProducer

Haha I know. But I think it is not broken. It is just the original website of the developer Ichiro Toda. You can still download synth1 over there 😁
