My favorite free virtual instrument is ZynAddSubFX (or Zyn-Fusion). You can only find free binary distributions to the latest versions for Linux, though. Thanks loads for this video and for pointing me in lots of useful directions. I have been a "hardware" guy for years and have been rather skeptical about this side of music tech, until yesterday when I found what I could do with instruments on Cubase...a revelation - I was amazed at what even the standard things in my basic cubase package could do. I have a lot of learning to do but am looking forward to the journey!

@AnotherProducer4 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I never really used Adobe Audition as I saw it more as an environment for only recording audio. But you cannot use MIDI for example. Maybe another software would be better for making music. However, you don't need to open the dll files. Put them in your VST folder. @@ZachxZeph I don't quite get the question, sorry. Normally vocals are recorded in mono. But in Cubase for example you have to have a stereo track to use stereo effects. I think in ableton you can switch from a mono to a stereo track very easily, which you can't in Cubase. I don't know that much about ableton but maybe I can help you, if you rephrase your question :)
@ZachxZeph5 жыл бұрын
@@AnotherProducer sorry 😅 my reply was typo. What i meant was. Sometimes i record vocals the audio in the screen splits into two (up & down) i think its left and right(?) And also sometimes i just recorded with one audio coming from the screen i think thats mono? I dont really know what is it. Is it mono or stereo or idk. Cause im barely new on the DAW so i just click whatevers on the DAW HAHAHA
@AnotherProducer5 жыл бұрын
@@ZachxZeph Haha yeah that sounds like mono and stereo :D Mono is only one audio source and stereo has 2 different audio sources. If you want to record in stereo you need 2 microphones. If you record your vocal you probably use only one mic and therefore both sources (left and right channel) contain the same information. As I said I don't know how it works inside of ableton, but in Cubase I have to use a stereo track to use stereo effects, like for example a ping pong delay on my mono source. But you can easily try it out yourself I suppose :)
