I've got the Srixons, main selling point for me was because I play at both a windy, hard links and a softer inland course. The Srixon cut sole means turf interaction is so much better off both surfaces, they don't bounce or dig! They don't balloon into the wind and are very easy to hit knock downs. But the biggest plus is repetitive distance, I've never been pin high as often (but that may be down more to modern tech - knowing exact distances to flag (laser/gps) and knowing the distances/gapping for each club trackman/flightscope)!

After using blades for years my next set will probably be a players cavity back. Just because of the 2-5 irons. Don’t get to play and practice enough to always be on point with those so I’ll probably get a utility for the 2 and/or 3 and go with a small cavity the rest of the way down. Mixed set is a possibility as well but I’ll just have to see how they suit my eye.

PING I210? I get the sense it rarely wins out in fittings because it's higher spin, not particularly aimed at distance, and certainly a larger profile than something like the T100. But for consistency/distance control in relation to forgiveness, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything else on the list that can beat it. Not flashy but they get the job done.

When I changed my irons this summer I tried some of these. Oddly the P760s were really disappointing, possibly because I was expecting too much from them, the feel/sound was just not there for me (but I really liked the feel of the P790s). JPX919 Forged was lovely but the head was a little to long from heel to toe for my eye - but the 919 Tours were stunning and so easy to hit but I need a bit more help in the 5i & 6i. I have since tried the MP20-MMCs and they are stunning. I remember trying the previous model, MP18-MMC which I really struggled to control a draw with, the MP20s had no such issues and to my looked better than the previous model. For completeness I actually bought i210s - great look, really nice spin rates, and I am comfortable with the feel

I find the 785s pretty darn easy to hit. The 585s are ridiculously easy to hit and dont look a lot different from the 785. If there is one dig on the Srixon line they are a bit lower spinning than most players irons. But if you have a medium/steep swing there isnt much out there better.

Ive played 20 rounds this season with them, love the feel and they’re very forgiving heel to toe and confirmed what Ian said! Great fitting but after diving into the back spin issue I’m now concerned they’re spinning way to low for me! My fitter & myself were blown away by the distance gains compared to the X-Forged gamers (I gained 10-12 yards with the 5 iron) and we both overlooked the low backspin. here are my stats from my fitting using Trackman: 5 Iron: 119.3 mph ball speed; 3,938 rpm back spin, 179 yards carry, 17.3 launch, 1.42 smash 7 iron: 108.5 mph ball speed, 4.465 rpm back spin, 155 yards carry, 18.0 launch, 1.36 smash 9 iron: 96.7 mph ball speed, 5,875 rpm, 128 yards carry, 19.1 launch, 1.24 smash Ive seen various KZbinrs back spin #’s of the i210’s 7 iron and they are typically in the 6-7,000 rpm range. I’m at 4,465 rpm and this has to be too low!?!? My plan is to go back in the spring 2020 and get refitted for Ping i210’s. The great thing about playing Quail Hollow on the simulator......you don't have to repair all of those pitch marks!!! 🤣🤣🤣⛳🏌️

Quick follow up: How would you compare the JPX 919 Forged to the MP 20 line?

If you're looking for a cavity, MP20 line is for you. 919 Tours are 👌

Can you guys test the Srixon Z Forged?

Funny how the summary of each of these all match my own experience Srixon - lower spinning Apex - Hotter Mizuno - more consistent Titleist - more spin Taylormade - combo set

Just sold my apex 19 combo set as they flew anything from 160 to 177 yds and I cannot play with that unpredictability. Hoping my i210 will be more consistent.

Totally agree, Andy. Sold my Apex Pro 19 set because of unpredictable distance in the long irons. If I hit the sweet spot it would go too far. Too much tech in the longer irons. Good luck with the i210s !!
