BDS and Zone are junk. Carli is the only way to go. For most people linear rate coils are fine. Progressive coils have their place on go fast rigs. If Carli is too pricy then go Thuren.
@ryan25466 жыл бұрын
Not saying those are bad company’s but Carli is pretty much an overpriced leveling kit, the fact zone and BDS offer dual rate coils no fine print warranty and all for more than half the cost and have amazing customer service SportTruck USA products all day long, like I said if you want a crazy SEMA show like truck, FTS, mcgaughys, cognitio, ect offer better products for the money, this is an all around best kit based on money, warranty, quality, design and install. Paying overpriced for a name isn’t the best kit for your truck
@ttengineer4046 жыл бұрын
Ryan Mayer dude, calling carli an over priced leveling kit is the most ignorant thing I’ve ever read. You get new coils, drop brackets, new steering, AND King shocks. But hey if you never leave the road and want to drive a pavement princess then by all means go with zone or bds.
@ryan25466 жыл бұрын
TTEngineer every lift kit comes with all of that new everything, they can come with FOX or KING shocks like I said Every kit comes with new coils now it’s down to the quality, construction, price, customer service, options available. And IMO Sport Truck has way more to offer than Carli starting with the dual rate coils front and rear all they way down to the Heavy Duty offset radius arms or 4 link suspension whichever you choose. Then customer service from sport truck is beyond excellent. I install lifts for a living and I have installed almost every brand you can name. Not knocking Carli saying it’s a bad kit just saying for the value you get far more for a more reasonable price with a Sport Truck Product, customer service and warranty.
@jackwsandoz6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Mayer Ohhhhh man, haha. I dont think BDS is junk at all butttttt comparing them with suspension set ups (like Carli/Thuren) that are meant to be flogged across the desert, makes me think you must not be real familiar with them. Carli's progressive coils (which I still have..) have really not proven as beastly as the newer linear rate coils paired with the King 3.5's and long arms. Thuren's coils are top notch and might be my next buy after some hydros. I dont see any desert racing teams running BDS coils in offroad races.. I won't argue that your set up isnt GREAT for the price, I totally agree. I mean hey, a v6 mustang could be a good deal for the $, IF it met your needs. As for summing up Carli as an overpriced leveling kit.. haha, yea they offer a leveling kit that's great if that's all you need but it also uses the same components (except the shocks of course) as their full builds. That may explain the price, and for me, that was a great way to piece it together as I could afford the various components. I know it costs exponentially more than something like BDS or Fabtech but again, it all depends what you're using the truck for. $20k in aftermarket is definitely overkill for most, agreed. Just don't bash it just cuz it's not what you're after.
@tylermain32447 ай бұрын
Maybe BDS is ok but zone imo is crap. Yeah i know they owned by same company. Anything that uses shock extensions is garbage. Hard to work on, drop brackets for trac bar snapping. Extremely bad experience for myself. 6.5" zone on 2018 ram 2500. Contemplating ripping it all out......
@ryan25467 ай бұрын
Shock extensions keep factory spec shocks with your upgraded suspension there’s nothing wrong with them if made correctly, not sure how it made your truck hard to work on either they’re all the same type of parts no matter what brand kit you get. Also not only is zone and owned by sport truck USA they use the same parts in either kits, bds just has extra options like 3 link and different radius arms or Coilovers.
@tylermain32447 ай бұрын
Why wouldn't you just buy shock long enough and suitable for the lift? Kit has zone shocks with it, not stock/factory shocks. For the rear shocks, the top mount fits inside the frame and they are a pain in the ass to deal with. Fox 2.0 have a allen key slot in the top and stocks I've seen have a hex end for a wrench to hold the shaft in place while you tighten the top nut. The extensions on the end have nothing. Rear trac bar drop bracket snapped, pulling off the highway into a rest area also had to get shop to weld it up better. From my personal experience I'd go another route. I dont think i abuse my truck but i definitely don't baby it and keep it on the pavement.
