I strained my groin almost a week ago while jogging. I iced it the first day and it didn't feel bad so the next day I decided I would walk. After about a mile and not feeling any pain, I decided a slow jog would be okay.... felt it on the first step! Since then I've been icing it daily and putting compression on it, along with rest. That's been 5 days now and I've been skimming through KZbin videos looking for advice on ways to speed up recovery time. At 62 I don't "bounce back" the way I used too! This is definitely the best video I've seen! It's has to be the most "complete" presentation I've seen, with diagnosis, treatment, stretching, and exercises to address ways to prevent future strains. In particular the massage method you demonstrated, started lessening the pain within minutes! Big thank you!

The stretch Bob does at 9:30 (on one knee with the other leg stretched out and he turns his foot to 3 different positions) can also work wonders for hemorrhoid problems and incontinence. I do it standing beside my bed, place the stretched out leg on the bed and hold onto a chair for balance.

That's the one! That 2nd excercise is how I discovered that my left adductor has not one iota of strength. (Worked out for 30+ years, injury kept me inactive for almost a year) Currently, this mucsle is very slow to improve. It responds to gentle exercises like calisthenics but makes like an ostrich when I want to push myself with even the smallest of squats. Anyway, Bob & Brad, your videos are in heavy rotation on my KZbin Recovery so I look forward to doing what I can with this one.

I've had groin pain for about 5 years now. Gone to physical therapy and did pelvic floor training which helped, but it comes back. I think I must have tore something while on a 220 mile race relay years back. Ever since then it is off and on pain and when I do a good run or cycle it gets agitated again. It sometimes scares me that it is a tumor or hernia but docs said it can't be a tumor bc it would have advanced by now and my blood work, obgyn tests, and feeling around tests are normal.

I got this from overstretching. I was trying to improve flexibility in my legs (for BJJ and Muay Thai) and I ended up fucking up my leg. This vid is very informative and helpful. Good stuff guys.

Its actually perfectly fine now. Took around a week or so. Listen to what these guys say and use ice and you'll be good in no time. However last night I dislocated my shoulder whilst throwing a jab in sparring and overextending my arm haha. I managed to locate it back into place myself and I carried on doing BJJ afterwards. Around 4 hours after training i felt the numbness and I couldn't move my arm properly. Just had x-rays and theres no major damage. Just gotta let it rest lol. Injury after injury for me these days man. But yeah man good luck with the groin stretch lol. Hopefully it'll be all good soon if you listen to these guys in the vid and do what they say.
