This is my first year trying Seward, I’ve been three times. At first I didn’t like it, than I got polarized glasses. I tried out the dock and point area where the rocks are. It is so much fun! Waiting for a school to pass by and the other people yelling out! School coming!!

Hey nuttyu, I'm a big fan of yours and I watch all of your salmon fishing vids. You made me so jealous that I want to come to alaska now! I live in oregon where snagging for salmon isn't allowed, so I really want to come this august and maybe snag for slivers in seward, but I really need a few pointers. What do I need to know in case I head up there?

Simple setup, with treble hook. Don’t over think it

You buy the treble hooks , then take some parasute cord and cut off about 8 inches , melt the end , then fill the inside of the cord with bb's or shotgun lead and burn the end to seal it , then hook the filled cord one of the trebles so it hangs off the ''bottom of the treble . That way the hook conects with the fish first. You dont have to pay out so much money.

Use a snap swivel it helps eyes of snagger hooks are sometimes sharp and when use a snap swivel won’t lose as many hooks

Just when i was going to say you was fishing the wrong spot you moved lol I’ve fished it down there a lot and I use 50lb line and i have two rods that are 11ft rods that you can run 80lb test on so the fish dont brake me off I’m there to get my fish for the year lol and if your going to keep stopping to pull up your sleeves and to wipe your face then your gouging to get stuck on the bottom you need to start jerking as soon as the hook hits the water lol

I read an article that made sense. I wasn’t to fond of snagging before I read it. It said; the waters that are allowed snagging are not fishing waters. They are harvesting waters. There are plenty of other water in Alaska for sport fishing. It made sense to me.
