I am 76 years old and have recently been diagnosed with osteorporois. I have always worked out - cardio, weights, yoga most days of the week. Although I have had to change the way I do some things, I am trying to continue to maintain my routine. I have found your stretches video which encompasses every stretch I was given by my physiotherapist and more. I do it every day! Thank you.

I love stretching first thing in the morning, but since my osteopenia has turned into osteoporosis I've been doing less and less these days in fear of breaking a bone. I really needed that quick access to a short stretch routine I’ve had a lot of health issues and which caused osteoporosis. I’ve always been very active in fit up until the past few years when I got diagnosed with my cell activation syndrome which affected lots of mine finally symptoms including my Musko skeletal system. I’m six years old and want to continue to be moving and active. I would love to do your 30 day for us your process please let me know how to go about that thank you Thank you

Question for you, PJ: for the stretch lying on our backs, soles of the feet together, knees out to the side is it important to keep the lower back flat to the ground. Unless I make an extra effort my lower back automatically arches. Flattening my back to the ground means that my knees don't stretch out as far to the sides. Thanks!

Hi you mentioned before the pelvic tilt is safe to do for osteoporosis but wouldn't be there some flexion of the lumbar spine in this particular exercise

No it's not. Pelvic tilt comes from the pelvis, spinal flexion comes from the spine.

I am 37 and because of a genetic disorder i have gone into menopause and have osteoporosis. I have celiac disease as well. I will be adding this into my routine to keep flexibility and mobility!

Are these good stretches to do before exercising or after? I thought dynamic stretching should be done prior to exercising and these are held a little long for that. I have a tendency to injury muscles, tendons and ligaments and need an osteoporosis-friendly warmup before moving on to cardio or strength training.

For the 30 Day Osteoporosis program you offer, if I purchase it, what do I do for exercises after the 30 days are over? Do I start over at day one again? I know that muscles have to be constantly challenged, so I wasn’t sure what we do with a set 30 day program and we reach the last day.

Most start over with heavier weights, and then they will take a break and do some of my other workouts (because the program will teach you what not to do with osteo and what to sub instead). Hope to see you in the community!

Hi PJ, I just turned 40 and got diagnosed with osteopenia. I had been doing workouts in the home which i believe i can no longer do the same way. You have some great stretches here. I do worry about people with osteoporosis (like myself) wrapping the strap around their hands. Osteoporosis that shows up on a DEXA scan pretty much means your bones overall are more porous. I would caution individuals not to wrap, in case they fracture their metacarpals.
