as of 09/23/2020's patch, the linked resource storage inventories still work fine, but the scythe "exploit" is gone since the patch changed the location and respawning of tools/items in NPC building chests. My one question for you, why not build the second resource storage building right at the "unstuck" spawn point? That way you wouldn't need to run to the building, just Unstuck and get TP'd right to it. That way you can teleport to it and clear cut trees as needed, or load up in the mine until you are super over-encumbered and TP right to the building rather than running to it with an amount you can walk with over and over. Also, the Bear(s) that camp the entrance to the mine are unable to go into the cave entrance. So, if you aggro the bears, then duck into the cave entrance, they will walk to the entrance and just stand there. Then you can easily cheese them in the face with spears with no chance of getting hit.

You can place campfires in the mines. they do burn for a long time. They will provide the light till the developer provides a way to stick that torch in the ground or on the wall.

Kage, the storage thing was kinda genius. I was trying to come up with a solution for the iron deposits and I was going to put an extraction building AND a house near the mine (was afraid the NPCs wouldn’t be able to make the trek in one day if the house was far away). I wasn’t even sure it would work, but now I don’t even need to test it because I like your idea so much better! It’s only one building and I can mine so much faster than the NPCs!

6:01 well I will be the first saying I have married a villager and didn't have any issue she moved with me without a problem 20:40 you can fire your villagers at any time, to hire better one at the actual dynasty reputation, ( what I mean: 2 villagers take 150 reputations you fire one it goes back down at 50 reputations) 22:40 during winter they don't like to talk they are probably depressed lol Btw research or resource storage, makes me smile every time because I do the same because of my first language. Tip for storage management. Do not keep logs in chests. Any dropped item from inventory will stay on ground forever. In storage shed is dedicated place to keep logs. Its the slot just left of the door with post in the middle. Take logs from chest and stand next to the post facing wall. Drop logs from your inventory with x key. Logs will drop just behind the post in nice heap and do not roll out )post keeps them in) I keep all my excess logs there in bundles of 10.

In the resource storage building, I find it best to not put logs into the box, they take to much room. Put the logs loose in what looks like a log storage area just left of the door when you come in the shed.

Just an observation, but the lumberjack puts wood, sticks and firewood in the woodshed storage, Take the logs and sticks out so more fire wood is put in after a few days, it will be mostly firewood.

You need Dynasty points too expand, if you steal you lose some. Early game its really hard too get them going so your shooting your self in the foot lol. But yea you can also hit E when building buildings (when its highlighted before you add materials) you can upgrade the style too stone vs sticks and logs and this increase happiness.

There is a lake near Hornica. The third mine is close to the creek (connected to the lake) going SE ( ik direction of flowing water is opposite), just go along the creek to the SE and it will be on the left, not far, no trees , it is uphill

I did not know about the mine up north, but there is another mine in the south east... east of Hornica. Just follow the SE path from Hornica until you get to a river with a small bridge and up in the mountainside you will see the mine. That is the one I am using. All you need to do is build a fire and dump piles of iron, salt, and rocks around it for a few days and then when the end of the season come just pick everything up and go to sleep. You appear back in your home with everything. I took back 200 iron, 300 stone, and 50 salt this way. I build scythes to sell. 200 iron is over 5000 gold in scythes. I brought the rocks back for a stone wall around my base. I just started my 8th year. Getting reputation sucks in this game though so I only have 6 other villagers and my wife. Another trick is using the "unstuck" feature in the main menu to teleport to the middle of the map where you first start the game. It saves me about half the trip each way going to my mine. I now have an actual mine building, a smithy II and a pig pen right now.

The mine up north between the twin-cities is better since you can place a resource storage by the entrance and don't have to do the end-of-season-teleport trick :) It also mean that there are two cities by your resource storage for selling... :) Getting reputation does suck. I'm closing in on 600, but only have the two quests pr season to increase. It seems that they will ad more quests later on (cfr the one quest that is stuck at "wait for further events"). Currently struggling both with building limit AND villager limit :(

Stones are everywhere, quite literally. You just have to know how to find them. In the forest you'll find patches of them. You'll find a bunch around clay deposits. You'll find a bunch along rivers/streams. Some are hidden by the foliage. Or you can "mine" for them.

So for the Scythes. I sell in the first town where I got them for two reason. #1 Its closer. #2 It has 4 venders instead of 2 venders. Now you might be saying well you stole it from there, so you cant sell it. Let me show you how to get around that. When you steal something that you can equip in your Quickslot (1-8) It starts red. You equip it to any Quickslot exit out of that menu and you can either press the Quickslot button or use your mouse wheel to scroll through the different slots. When you go back into your bag the item is now Black and can be sold anywhere (even from where you stole it)

Mine spot between the Barnaica towns is better. No bear. 2 vendors on 1 stamina run away only to sell all excess salt. You can see nearest vendor house from cave entrance. Flat ground just next to cave for building. Also small spring for drinking water just there. The cave is located just where the small stream ends between Barnaicas.

Stone respawns really quickly. After one year I visited the mine again and everything was respawned.

Collect berries with your stone axe equipped. Only pick birch branches around your town and you'll regrow only mapletrees

Maybe you should built your excavation hut near the mine where you put the resource storage in order for them to produce more rocks and iron.. Like I know you said it probably dsn't matter because its the same case with the wood hut but the wood hut its practically in the range of 50 meters of at least one or two trees.. But then I would worry if a bear kills the villager, don't really know just trying to help

Go to field management, clear the crop options Unassign the worker Save Load ensure hoe and bag are in the barn Assign only 1 crop type per field Assign the worker Save Load Do not interfere or help. Just let them do it Hope this helps

Hey dude, better than unstuck, if it's the last night of the season (doesn't matter which one) and you are far away from home you can make a small camp fire(idk the exact name, the cheapest one) and sleep by it and you will wake up at your home

The 50/61 mood difference you're seeing is down to the type of house as far as I can see in my own game. Anyone in a wattle house is at 50% mood and my residents in stone houses are 61%. I'm guessing (hoping?) that daub will increase it by a bit more.

If you build a resource building near the mine the you can put you rocks/iron in there and it'll be shared across all storage plus saves you walking back and forth with rocks

I move my resources out of the chests and stack them in the resource storage, just to the left of the door is a perfect spot to drop logs, just run up the sloped wood piece and stand against the vertical one and drop like stacks of 10, then I pick an area for stone, sticks, and straw, stacks of 10 for stone and 100 for sticks and straw. IMHO using the storage that way just looks more realistic

I could be wrong but I don't think any skills are required for Field workers, I don't recall any being highlighted when I am assigning people to it. Farming is for the Farmers who are crafting stuff.

You can just use a resource storage 1 since it says that it stores only 300kg but it stores way more. Mine is at 500 kg at the moment. The only reason I upgraded mine to lvl 2 was because it needed to be repaired a lot of times.

you can put an infinite amount into the resource storage, however the workers in your town can not put anything in it if it is over the limit which can cause problems.

You should have built the storage by the other mine; Dead-close to the mine, trees AND a village for selling stuff :) PS. I built an excavation shed "on" the mine you're building the storage close to, and the bear didn't spawn anymore (which isn't a good thing, because the night hunts seems to increase in size; 13 animals required last night for me, so I need to have those known spawn points) PPS. I married a villager and didn't have any family moving in (I did get "sorry, I'm married" a lot from other villagers) and her skills are very good (10 in both extraction and survival). Not sure if that is typical for villagers or if I were just lucky

Build a small fire and light it on fire, you can sleep at it. Iron axe takes a tree down with 3 hits.

The farm one does make sense. I had farms before I got the quest to have one, so I made a quick one, then deleted it and I still have the taxes for it. Was wondering why they didn't go down, though it's not exactly a lot, so eh. Animals and resources (rocks etc) are supposed to spawn every 2 days, but I think that might be bugged too. I have a boar outside my town that I seem to have to kill twice a day, but maybe it's just me. Also, Kage, your guy is not out of shape, you keep sprinting everywhere. Anyone would get tired with you controlling them.

About that hygiene meter, it seems always goes up and it does make sense. And also it seems to affect your conversation with people. So I make a Washtube close enough to major villages. It doesn't count as building so you won't have to pay taxes for that.

There is a horsemanship skill. Not sure if they're gonna let us use wagons for resource gathering, but they're definitely planning to add horses for us to ride around on.

I don't get how it is only taking like two spear throws normally it takes me like 5 or 6 throws to take out a bear? Same for the wiset. Is there something that you are doing that is causing more damage. I do head shots also. I figured out that the higher your stamina the stronger the throw or strike also.

There are tons of stones between northeast town and river to the East. Also the cave north of the 2 towns has no bears. And one of the cave far south said to have no bears. Btw how do you stack lumber to the left side of lumber yard? Did you upgrade the building? Btw flirting in winter time is not so good cause everyone is in bad mood due to climate. Quick save before all the flirting in winter. I wish they didn’t patch the 25:30 part cause when I started the game it didn’t have any tools in either of the shed except a wooden hoe

So with the making fields and deleting them... You get charged a tax for every building (or field) you place. Regardless of if you delete it. The way taxes work (at least for now) is that you get charged for every season. So a house (the one you first build) cost 10 coin in taxes PER season. So if you just have a house, at the end of the year you will owe 40 coin. Now, if you build the house in the Spring, then in Autumn decide to destroy it and place it elsewhere. You will then be taxed 50 coin come Spring. Thirty coin for the first house being up from Spring to Autumn, then 10 coin for the new house going up in Autumn, and another 10 coin for the house being their in Winter. Personally I wish they would accumulate the taxes for what you have at the END of the season, but I think they did it this way to discourage the farming exploit of making many fields, plowing, then destroying them. Doing that exploit would level your farming relatively fast, but with how the taxes are done, it will cost you a lot now.

PSA... I married a townie. She has lvl10 farming and lvl10 survival. Her family came with her, a sister and parents, They occupied an entire house on their own. Her sister is 19 and in year 2 of our marriage became a worker for me. She also is a lvl10 farming and a lvl10 extraction/mining. So in exchange of having her family occupy a house I have 2 people with 2 lvl10 skills. Fair trade off for the house IMO.
