One of my favorites! I always made the cake from scratch, it seemed so simple. But more fun watching you make it!

I wonder if you used a modern style cake mix how different it would be. But I’m with you, scratch made all the way!!!

@ClaireRisper It would probably work but it seemed to me that the cake was more like a pound cake. A little denser than most mixes. Your recipe seemed sparce on the flour.

My recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of flour in a 9 inch cake pan.

My husband requested Pineapple Upside Down Cake for his 71st birthday last week. I hadn't made it for 10 years. I don't know why. We both love it.

It will definitely be something we add to our dessert rotation! Your husband has good taste 🙂

I've made it as cupcakes using tidbits or crushed. I've also used different fruits of all kinds. So good. Thanks for sharing.

I love cooking from scratch so I’m excited to try your vintage recipes. Lol, I have a sifter just like that. I’ve used it for decades.

There are so many kitchen gadgets that really stand the test of time! It’s funny and true that they don’t make em like they used to 😂

We always made peach upside down cake since my grandfather hated pineapple. My DH also hates pineapple so it'll always be peach.

We planted peach trees this year so hopefully in a couple years I can’t make peach upside down cake all the time!! Sounds delicious!

I've had and made pineapple upside down cake all my life. It's funny to see it as a vintage recipe. But I'm 65, so I suppose I am vintage myself. Next time, double the batter to get a thicker cake.

I didn’t realize the recipe was almost 75 years old! That surprised me lol. I will definitely double it next time, we enjoyed it so much!

What a great find!! I haven’t even finished watching the video yet and somehow I think this is going to go over a lot better than the banana surprise video. ❤🍍🧁… I have to ask is that a special tool you used to crack open the quail eggs???
@ClaireRisper7 ай бұрын
Looool anything is better than banana surprise 😂 and yes they are called quail scissors! The membrane on quail eggs is thicker than a chicken and it’s very difficult to crack without getting tiny eggshells everywhere so we use the special scissors!
