I buy fresh, whole organic beets from the produce section of Sprouts or Whole Foods and run them through my juicer for beet juice. Stalks, leaves and all! It's super healthy and super bioavailable putting them thru a juicer because no fiber to digest and extract from. Putting them in a blender is also great, to get a smoothie like the doctor says in the video. I have also cooked fresh beets (not canned beets) on the stove top in a pot until tender and served them as a side. I add a little corn starch at the end to thicken up the liquid a little, and they are quite divine this way too.

Dr. Marcum.............a few years back, I was going to start adding beets to my diet for the very reason you articulated in the video.....especially in light of the fact that my Mom died from a hemorrhagic stroke and I am approaching the same age currently, so maintaining health BP is even more important. Yet, I have also suffered with calcium oxalate kidney stones and still have some calculi in one kidney. Unfortunately, beets are a oxalate-rich food. It stopped me in my tracks. Yes, I could try to eat some calcium-rich foods with the beets, but I also don't eat fat and that becomes a challenge. Great advice for most people though.
