All right hi everybody John Meadows here and today we're going to be talking about the Meadows Row.
@freedomring48133 жыл бұрын
LOL, I knew I would find a John Meadows watcher. Sorry but I'm 61 and have been doing those before I seen anyone else doing them . I also did them before I got on KZbin and discovered the Meadows channel. When you lift for years you look at machines and bars and wonder if you can do something different with them. And they do work great.
@peterchaseify3 жыл бұрын
@@freedomring4813 Did John Meadows invent the row, likely not, but he was apparently the one who popularized it. Was Arnold the first to ever do the Arnold press? Doubtful...but history only remembers the one who helped introduce it to the masses. Can start calling them Freedom Ring Rows if you want though??? I'm down.
@freedomring48133 жыл бұрын
@@peterchaseify No disrespect to Meadows as I watch his channel too. And when I first seen him doing them about 9 months ago I was like wow ,I do those too and they work.
@peterchaseify3 жыл бұрын
@@freedomring4813 Even if you were it wouldn't bother me, I'm not in his family tree, ha. He's just another credible source of information out there and you recognized his intro, so I figured you also watch. I just figured Meadows Row, or Freedom Ring Row, are less syllables than "makeshift one arm high angle row" like Ryan called it, so when trying to describe the exercise to someone it's easier. And btw, respect to still be hitting them weights at 61, I'm all for it.

Ryan seems like a guy who can appreciate the move that actually helped me grow my traps immensely. The flipside is it f*cked up everything else as well. I did rack pulls as my last exercise of a back day for a while HEAVY. Not light, because the purpose is to put immense stretch to my traps and the plus side of rack pulls is that you can move way mire weight than deadlifting on the highest part of the movement. Sets of 5-10 depending on gow f*cked my lower back was and pushed them to failure, 5 or 6 sets. It WILL grow your traps. It'll also make your entire back hurt if you do them properly. Like REALLY hurt. The next day the weight of a t-shirt can actually hurt your traps. Highly recommended 5/5 the next day is a lighter day.

I don’t have heavy dumbbells to do the 3 versions of incline dumbbell rows, but I do have a landmine and can do the landmine row (aka Meadows row), work the upper back and rear delta, and superset by changing upper arm angle and turn that into one arm T bar row to work the lats. Will try that in my next workout. 💪🏽
