Big Ben finished his career in the Top 5 of most categories…but has the ALL TIME RECORD for 500 yard games…regular season and playoffs. Only player in history with back to back 6 TD games. Most perfect QBR games. Passes over 40 yards… The list is ridiculous. Eli was great… Rivers was great… I don’t think any teams history would be different had you switched up those guys in a different order. No team would have been disappointed. That 2004 draft class for QB’s was the best we will ever see.

2011 Giants had a bottom 2 o-line and a bottom half defense.... Btw, in 2007, the Giants defense was also bottom half. People are misremembering just because of the sacks. Sacks are great, but stretched over a season is far and few in-between. Not only that, the Giants did not have a good pass blocking o-line. They had a great run blocking one though. Don't conflate pass blocking and run blocking. The Giants have not been a good organization. Anything that was good left when Wellington handed the reins over to his son.

The BR homers just don't get it. The reason BR had a better record (a team metric) and more trips to the POs (a team metric) was b/c he had MUCH BETTER teams around him. The Steelers produced 90 Pro Bowlers and 28 All-Pros behind BR, while the NYG produced 44 Pro Bowlers and 7 All-Pros behind Eli. IOW, he had better defenses, better o-lines, and better players at WR, TE, and RB. As matter of fact, Eli led as many Top 10 offenses (7) in 14 yrs (with fewer weapons) as the F/T QB as BR did in 17 yrs. Also, Eli was the best player on the NYG 5 times and Roethlisberger only once. That advantage in GWDs that BR has? That's due to BR having better D's that held leads in the 4th Q (Eli had more game-tying/go-ahead TDs in the 4th Q 44 to 42). In the POs, Eli was clearly better - 2 SB MVPs (with zero for BR) with far fewer turnovers (BR is the all-time leader in pick-sixes in the POs).

I’d like to point out, a very obvious fact that the Big Ben crowd doesn’t want to hear… those SB wins were DESPITE Big Ben’s performances, not because of them. Big Ben never got SB MVP because he never threw more TDs than INTs in any of his SB appearances. Eli manning wished for a game where he threw 2 picks and no TDs and won. That happened in the Seattle Pittsburgh SB for Big Ben.

@@jeffreyv8306 lol the difference in that game wasn’t that last drive by Big Ben… it was the fact that Big Ben’s INT right before halftime was bailed out by Harrison’s pick six. If Harrison doesn’t get the pick six, Big Ben doesn’t win the game when he drives for his only TD of the game. If Big Ben doesn’t score that drive he doesn’t have a TD in that SB. Big Ben’s two SB wins he has 1 Td, 3 INTs… So I’ll grant that the drive won the game, and it looks good to have two SB wins. But again, he HAD to make that drive happen because his three prior possessions went Punt, Punt, Safety.

Ben did things that Eli could not, as no one in the history in the NFL was better at shaking off tacklers and extending a play than Ben. Back to back 6 TD games (yeah, it's only a 2 game stretch, but it's a darned impressive stat). Eli had some really talented offensive players on his teams, as did Ben, but Ben was unique in the challenge he brought to an opposing defense in his prime. None of this is meant to suggest that Eli wasn't an amazing quarterback, but the fact that half of these TV personalities picked Eli over Ben just goes to show you how little respect Ben gets for what he did on the field, relative to some of his peers.

Eli wasn't even considered elite year in and year out. He, like Ben, won 2 rings with great defense but Ben took the Steelers to a 3rd Super Bowl. If you take away the rings from both it's not even close. Ben has 4 perfect games, a record, four 500 yd games, a record, the youngest QB to win a Super Bowl, 2nd all time in game winning drives behind only Peyton Manning by 1 game and 3rd all time in 4th quarter comebacks behind only Brady and Peyton by 1 and 2 games. Eli's career completion percentage is 60 to Ben's 64 and his rating is 84.1 to Ben's 93.5. Ben when playing a full season was never under 60 percent completion (2 years were 59.9 and 59.7 but that's rounded to 60 mathematically) he had a passer rating in the 90s 14 times to Eli's 5 times and in the 100s 3 times to Eli's zero. Eli had seven 4000 yd seasons to Ben's six but Ben also had a 5000 yd season. I'll give Eli credit for a 5000 yd year since he had a 4933 season but then you gotta give Ben an extra 5000 yd year for his 4952 season. As said they both have 2 rings but Ben has an additional Conference championship. Eli's SB MVPs are overblown, especially the first one when Tyree with the first TD and then the helmet catch was just as significant and in the second one Nicks had 10 catches for 103 yds. Ben easily could have been MVP vs the Cardinals. But regardles Ben was more accurate and his ability extended the play is legendary.

Rich Eisen for years has said Ben was MVP of his second Super Bowl, he had more than the drive, he set up 10 points prior to that on big throws to Hines Ward and Heath Miller and one he was bouncing off defenders and on the final drive he had to extend plays that almost resulted in sacks. Ben ended with a 93 rating compared to Eli's 87 the year before. Eli's front four got pressure without the Giants having to blitz and Eli was losing both SBs late and loses both if Asante Samuel hangs on to the interception on the final drive of the first SB or if Wes Welker hangs on to the ball on 3rd down with the lead late inside the Giants 20 in the second SB.
