This performance, the words, in particular, make me weep and lament the pain and sorrow Stu must have felt to bring him to suicide.

Stu was a fantastic singer great voice he's very sadly missed fronting a grope like Big Country was amazing for him even though Mike Peters tried to take his place from the Alame even though he was a great vocalist I always loved Big Country in the 80s I guess Stuart was going though hard time to tragically take his own life in the mid 90s gone but certainly not ever forgotten 😔💙🫶 there music will live on though as they had many gems throughout the 80s them an Simple Minds 2 of the greatest rock/pop bands of the 80s to come out of Glasgow Scotland!

stewart could look down the barrel (TV term for looking at the viewer through the lens) and holds that look for the audience.

Flame of the West would have been a better lead off single from the Steeltown album, more immediate with the guitars more prominent than they were in this song. I always thought it was a strange decision to release this as a single at all, even though it contains my favourite line from any BC song.

This was about Ronald Reagan and might have a reason why it wasn’t released as a single
