A LONG time ago, I used to watch animal rescue programes in Detroit. They were based on dogs tied to trees for years on end & it was brutal, the inbedded collars were hidious & I SWEAR I could smell the wounds. At least these victims have access to the healing powers of salt water.

Denzil is starting to look a bit more confident, though I'm sure seal catching is an usual skill to learn. Each case is totally different than the last yet sadly so similar, there’s been many hooks but in different places and different levels and types of penetration and the line is always wrapped around the poor creature in a slightly different way. Antoine was such a natural though, he was the 'seal whisperer'. Naude must be wonderful to work with even in times I would be shouting and screaming he’s so calm and his instructions so clear.

Struggling with gloves on and difficulty using scissors but yet bare feet, the chances are that seal will get your foot long before your hand. The gloves are pretty though. You do great work, education for the natives would be fabulous. Thanks for your efforts.

Y’know guys, most of my background is in biomedical engineering (prosthetics primarily). Y’all’s net seems pretty good but the zipper seems to be a little difficult, especially when it’s splayed open so wide like that. There’s a company here in the US called Ohio Willowwood that specializes in making prosthetic liners for amputees. Next time you’re in need of a net, consider syncing with them. I’ll bet they could build you a seal catching net that can expand a bit so that zipping it back up is a little easier.
