I literally had to stop the video after she said she wasn’t wrapping her foot. Why are pt’s non-compliant and then wonder why they end up in these situations. Dr. Jefferson has told her 50-11 times to wrap her foot. She just doesn’t do it. I hope she takes heed to what he’s telling her. In Texas we are seeing an influx of diabetic amputees and the majority are due to non-compliance. I see it everyday as a home health nurse. Keep educating her doc and maybe she will eventually do what she needs to do. Great video and great bedside manners. You are a rare breed 👏🏼🙏🏼♥️😍

Non compliance is probably the biggest reason our country is so unhealthy. The general attitude is “you can’t tell me what to do” because it takes too much work. I’ve been in critical and emergency care for over 20 years and it’s never been this bad

Yeah, he sounds to me as genuinly caring, listening and reacting from his heart while using his knowledge. You must be a foctor with a bery very busy practice. If I didn t live in Europe I would have been very glad to become one of your patients ( got Vascular EDS in combo with arthrosis and damage from several Arthritis periods from teenage years.CVID,Hypermobile EDS (yep 2 types of EDS...bad luck I guess 😉) and Systemic Mastocytosis plus wheelchair user.) So in need of professionals to look after my feet and recently another bone broke on the outside of my left foot. I learn a lot from your channel and will take that with me in search for a good local doctor to get my feet routinely checked and cared for.

I feel she might be in denail for beginning dementia. That could be reason why she this time didn t follow "orders ☺".As she did do it last session...so maybe? Remember that there are also silent bleeding in the brain that can cause depending on the location, not a lot of symptoms if it was in a lucky area and only a small one. Bleeding in the brain is possible even in newborns, so it s not depending on age. It can mask as several problems even look as if the patient willingly didn t do as told....Especially seeing the episode before this one she did do as was asked and sure looks like she didn t just forgot once. Maybe a idea for her and her relatives to have looked after her brain and possible starting dementia or small silent bleeding.

I wonder if the patient would eligible for home health care to come in daily to clean and dress the affected area. I don’t think she’ll get with the program, nor appreciate the seriousness of this wound, which could worsen - then she’ll really be screwed. Great video Doctor and thank you for putting it up.

I believe you're correct. She doesn't see this as anything more than a small cut on her arm that's scabbed over. If it heals up totally it'll be despite home care and because of the Drs care. It must be frustrating to have to dig the lint out a 2nd time.

That seema so unnecessary though when this person is fully capable.of doing it herself. Seems like a waste of resources to send a worker to someones house who can fully take care of themselves. Shes just being lazy and doesnt want to do the work. Its really sad because its her own health shes risking.

@@e.starling141 I hope that for your sake you have someone who cares enough for you to get to a doctor when you are unable to care for yourself. It is not laziness you are seeing here. From start to finish Dr. Jefferson’s work fascinates me. He is very straightforward with his patients. When he sees the patient is not following instructions for aftercare he stresses the point as to why it should be done. If his instructions are followed this time, this wound should be healed.

Good video, Dr., although it's lightly mild compared to your other videos, which I am in love with. I understand that this patient is in the home stretch of her healing process and I'm excited to have been able to see her progress from the start. I know it's not a bout gore but you do have the best "real deal" patient care that I've found and to me that is extremely authentic to anyone who thinks it's just shaving calluses and removing ingrown nails. I hate to say that when i watched the original video i had a feeling this lady wasnt compliant with your instructions for care. Like when you asked her if she moisturizes and she said yes and you asked what kind of moisturizer and she initially wasnt answering. You asked her again and she said eventually said "what you gave me". But it was pretty obvious to me she didnt answer right away because she was most likely lying and was trying to think of a type of moisturizer she could have been using. So Im not that surprised she didnt follow your instructions at all. I worry her foot will get worse and she might lose it if she doesnt take netter care. Or more importantly if she stops coming to you. Sadly i think a good amount of your patients take your care for granted. They figure they dont have to do anything because youll take care of it for them.

I have neuropathy so I have little to no feeling. I have my husband check my feet all the time. I lost one of my legs so I know what it's like to get through life without a leg. I lost it because I twisted my ankle after losing 3 toes due to an infection from a callus. Do what the Dr says woman!!!!!!!

If you look close the foot started bleeding again when the tip of the tool he is using sliced into her skin. That is why it started bleeding.

I don’t understand where there children are. I know my daddy’s feet get bad and with his Alzheimer’s he needs to go to the doctor if my mother has a hard time getting him to mind her my little brother and I drive over there and help her. Thank you for sharing these videos so we can understand how important foot health is . I had no idea how important until my father started having problems and learning about them will help me keep a closer eye on my fathers feet. I hope this lady’s foot is better soon.

Have you thought about using a styptic pen that stops bleeding? Manicurists use it if they clip the cuticle too closely
