You will not crack 100C unless you are below sea level, likely 99.6 will be a peak, especially as those are not really calibrated in the factory other than a single point cal, done at assembly using ambient temp, and an average for the NTC thermistor used for slope. Try another 3 or so units, and use the one that reads the highest at room temp when next to the others.

I enjoy your limited commentary text throughout the videos, a man of few words, but those words are simple and to the point with letting us know what you're doing throughout your day/video breaking stuff down and melting the copper and such. I have also always been a fan of your mid video meal cooking also, as with all that work you've gotta keep those energy levels up. I also really like the Deadpool character on your bench in the corner. Also, who doesn't love all of your "Nature Appreciation" moments. hi...Mate It's good to see a new video. @bigstackD3 ай бұрын
@@cassiusparker5176 normally I’ll just use a stainless steel spoon or a flathead screwdriver and give a gentle scrape. I’m not too concerned with cross contamination as these are just personal pieces I collect but when you have the chance I always recommend using one crucible for each different metal that way if there is a little bit of copper or brass left in it that can just mix in with the next melt, but other than that give it a gentle scrape out after you have poured or while the crucible is still pretty hot as that will make it a bit easier👍🏻.

Man, yo won't crack 100º while the sensor is IN the water. When any water molecule reaches 100º becomes gas, so it won't be IN the water. At least at 1atm. of pressure. This is how chemical destilation works, as much as you heat the liquid it will stay at boiling temperatura until it fully evaporates. And you won't get superheated water in those open-air, water-moving conditions. Your are now getting 99º because it's winter and atmospheric pressure is slightly less than normal, so water boils easier. But it also depends on that cheap thermometer accuracy, that btw seems quite good. EDIT: You get >100º when sensor is touching the tray bottom or the copper block
@wesleyehowell3 ай бұрын
I was thinking the same thing
@LuigiRosa3 ай бұрын
THIS! If he read 100 maybe the sensor was on a copper brick. But until the sensor is in liquid water at "normal" pressure you cannot reach or pass 100. Then there is maybe a component of sensor calibration.
