@W4ABN3 жыл бұрын
I really love the looks of molten metal. It looks so clean and bright. Might have to look into zinc if I get into melting. I am a boater and zincs are used on boats as a sacrifice to keep other metals from being eaten away. A lot of boat zincs get switched out even if they still have a little life left in them. Lead could probably be easy to get a hold of, after disposing of derelict boats. Too bad about it being toxic. It's a pretty interesting metal.

Wow D, that was a lot of melting! Great idea to show the different weights of different metals in identical size bars. You cracked me up when you added the tin with the copper and said "normally you'd add the tin once the coppers melted but you weren't normal over there." To me it looked like the zinc poured nicely as if it were water or the same way copper does. I loved the way the backs of the zinc coins came out so smooth to. Awesome job with this entire ordeal. Everything looked nice at the end! Also the boys look nice and healthy. Give both of them a little rub under their necks and around the base of their ears from me. I hope you and your family have a nice Memorial day. ❤✌🐾

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but it's possible that ring @ 14:32 that didn't melt was an iron alloyed phosphor bronze. Phosphor bronze has a melting point at the high end of brass anyhow, addition of iron would make it higher still. Some phasor bronze alloys go well into the 1100-1200C range and above. Watched this vid twice because it's interesting, as I've done with many of yours. All of your videos are fun to watch.
