I bought a red Stunner X in Jan 2021.. I chose the 24" MTB (knobby) tires since I ride almost exclusively on gravel and mud trails... I went for the 24" tires so that my wife (5'2) could ride it as well, I'm 6'1.... we both love it and love the power and range...I'm In Kenora NW Ontario and am surrounded by hills, BIG hills, so I needed the power... fwiw if you don't like sifting then select 4th or 5th gear and leave it there.. provided you don't have a huge hill to climb there will be no need to shift... and I've managed 48 kph so far... I also pull a homemade grocery trailer 15 km into Kenora to go shopping (and 15 more to come back).... great company to deal with as well... cheers from NW Ontario..Canukistan

That is awesome you can both ride it. I might switch to the knobby tires but they are out of stock right now.

Hey Bryan, Got mine last Tuesday and I got the 24" 3" knobby tires in the black cherry. It went together like a charm and I took it out for a test run. Had a bit of a problem initially with keeping the battery in, but once it was secure, I could not believe the insane torque of the motor. I have gone up hills on that bike in pedal-assist 2 (have not gone beyond 2 out of fear) and seventh gear. On my NEZA F1 with the 750 watt motor in the rear hub, I did the same hill in pedal-assist 4 in second gear and it was a struggle. The Stunner X is a stunner! Cool video!!

Hello CC, I've received my stunner x 24" two weeks ago and have 70 miles on it so far. I am loving it. I'm 6'1" and it fits me well, i have the handle bars as low and forward as they go. My wife rides it, she is 5'4" i have to put the seat almost all the way down but she fits. It is a big bike. Even the 24"stunner bike frame is larger than my 2 non electric mountain bikes. It came with the 170mm crank arms and i have about 4'" of pedal clearance. I actually ordered the bike with 24x3 street tires but Biktrix sent it with 24x3 MTB tires by mistake which i like but will probably look to buy street tires for it soon. Shortly after i did a few rides the front and back brakes seem to grind with moderate braking applied to the levers. I sanded down and cleaned the pads and rotors and it seems to be slightly better. Maybe the rotors had some oil on them or the new pads were not bedded in. I recommend ordering the bike with the 4 piston brakes if you can swing the extra $$. The bike is heavy and i'm 200lbs, when going down steep long hills the brakes work sufficiently but i can tell the bike can use more powerful brakes. Out of the box the throttle and pedal assist were very jerky. ( i have the 48 volt 17ah battery) I downloaded the Bafang program linked on the biktrix website and purchased the adaptor needed from Luna Cycle and reprogrammed the controller settings... Night and Day Difference!!!!! Link to excellent articles explaining the BBS02 programming:..... electricbike-blog.com/2015/06/26/a-hackers-guide-to-programming-the-bbs02/ support.biktrix.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039064292-Bafang-Controller-PAS-Programming-Guide electricbike-blog.com/2015/03/17/programming-the-bbs02-without-frying-your-controller-and-losing-your-sanity/ For most of the settings i followed "Karls Special Sause" but some settings i tweaked to my liking once i understood what the settings were for. My Current% settings are 0,10,20,30,40,50,60,70,85 and 100% and my Speed% settings are 0,44,51,58,65,72,79,86,93 and 100%. I use pedal assist 0-9, set the Throttle handle mode to SPEED, set the throttle to BY DISPLAYS COMMAND and i set my Start Current to 10%. for both PAS and Throttle. Overall I love the bike. It is not a fast top end bike, i'm 200lbs and the 24" MTB tires filled to 27psi i could not get it to go faster than 29mph with heavy peddling and 24mph with very light peddling. But for low end power the bike is an absolute Ag Tractor and will climb anything. In cruise it will do 15mph in 7th gear and assist 2 or 3 (out of 9) all day long like a dream with very little effort.

The Stunner X shaw is a nice bike......I’m just over 6 feet and I ordered mine with the 24” wheels and nobly tires....they are great on and off the road....they have a really nice feel to them. I also had them swap the thumb throttle for a twist throttle, I much prefer the twist...there was no additional charge for the swap 👍. I also added an inexpensive suspension seat post and a cloud 9 cruiser seat....it really makes it a comfortable ride. Happy riding 👍👏😃🇨🇦

$2499 right now but I've seen it as low as $2199 when they run a special. It ships direct from Canada via air transport.

Bolton ebikes in Grass Valley, CA, has Biktrix Stunner, Stunner X, and Juggernaut Ultra to test ride, but that's not Southern; about 8hr for me (Palm Springs area). I ordered a different model, the beats, and got it in 2 weeks. Had a warranty issue (battery popping out), and it took about a week of emailing for me to communicate the problem. At that time I was told what part could be causing the problem, and they sent it right away (about a week for delivery that time), but in the meantime I loosened and reseated that component as they suggested which fixed my issue without having to install the replacement they sent. I'm glad I ordered the model I did but it's big, so I want to get the Stunner X for my wife, but the one with fat tires because here in the desert there's a lot of soft sand including on the shouders of roads.

If you want the gearless performance of a 750 watt hub motor from a 750 watt mid-drive it isn't hard to do. Just limit the power of the mid drive and put the bike in a low gear or put the motor on a single speed bike.

You always have good input and advice no matter the bike. Great review! That quick release on the back tire should be standard on all e-bikes. In fact congress should pass legislation to require it on all bikes sold in the USA🤪

Great review. I have a few questions. Does the bike allow for a chariot type trailer? My son has a disability and we need to pull him behind us. How is the standard battery? Would you want to upgrade? I’m looking at the x with the big wheels. Thanks.
@CitizenCycle9253 жыл бұрын
I've never used one of those trailers but I think some of them attach to the axle bolt and the biktrix has a quick release skewer on the back wheel so it might not work. For me the standard battery is just fine, I typically only ride 20 mi or less at a time. I guess if you were going to ride really long distances you might want to upgrade it to a larger capacity though especially if you would be pulling a lot of extra weight.

When will you be adding a 2000w front hub motor to this bike?"
@geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz3 жыл бұрын
I like these bikes. The style power comfort ruggedness etc. Unfortunately in the UK they don't sell them but I think it possible to get a Himiway from Germany which is maybe something close?
@geoffreyfagan17983 жыл бұрын
Himiway cruiser is heavier, same power but less torque and less efficiency due to hub drive. Also, Himiway uses a speed sensor from what I've seen on other youtube vids - each pedal assist level has an associated speed range, so invoking pedal assist at lower speed accelerates hard and then when you ht the top of the range motor cuts out. Biktrix Stunner X uses a cadence sensor which means you control the amount of assistance by the cadence you set (speed of pedaling). The gear you select interacts with this, because a higher gear is harder to pedal so your cadence will be slower which means the power from the motor drops off (though you can always hit the throttle). Of course for any given cadence the power wil be greater in a higher assist level. A torque sensor scales power according to how hard you pedal, instead of how fast, so using a higher gear with more resistance gives you more power assist not less, which I've heard described as more intuitive. From Biktrix, the "Ultra" models have this feature (from the Bafang Ultra motor, 2hp peak). If base model Ultra comes with dual piston brakes, maybe think about upgrading to quad, but at least with the dual piston version the pistons are larger. Mine is the "Juggernaut Ultra Beast" named because the frame is large (best with a dropper seat post), but that's to accommodate dual integrated batteries, and batteries are the weak link. If multiple battery sizes are available get the largest, and if the price delta seems high remember it includes a faster charger. You can also get dual batteries in the Duo, natch, and that one is available in a step-through version and smaller frame, but only one of the batteries is integrated. I'm surprised you can't order a Canadian bike from the UK but then I'm from the US so I don't understand how the Commonwealth works.

@@geoffreyfagan1798 Thanks Geoffrey. I ended up getting a Tongsheng mid-drive Torque sensing kit for my old steel hybrid bike and it works brilliantly for me and I agree that it actually does like to go up hills in a high gear so that you are pressing on the pedals to activate the power and it's a wonderful sensation as though you are floating up hills. Great kit and economical to purchase also. At present I have 50 miles on the battery after a full charge and still about half the 6 bars showing but I think there will only be about 10 miles left but I'm very impressed with that. As a backup I came across the Fiido D4s (was looking at the Rad Mini) and ordered one of those. It's cheap etc (fast as can be unlocked) has good reviews and will let me see how the hub motor compares but I'm very happy with the Tongsheng at present and it seems you can change the software to enable more functionality so I will look at that but I don't think I need it. After using the Tongsheng ebike and going back to my other 12kg hybrid non-ebike it felt as if I had a flat rear tire in comparison so I'm definitely a new convert to ebikes hence why I immediately bought another but one that I could store easily so no fat bike this time.

CitizenCycle, You mentioned about the pedal hits the ground at times, are the crank length are 170 mm? Also, I accustomed of riding my bicycle with 70-80 RPM cadence regardless the speed because that's the most efficient way to ride a bike without an assist. It is possible that you can ride the same manner on a mid drive bicycle probably because you have more selection of gear ratios but can you ride the same on a hub drive? Your honest input makes me decide which drive I will purchase on an E-bike. Thx

the stunner x has 152 mm crank arms, and the extra set they included were the 170's. with regard to the RPM Cadence, boy i dont think i can give you an accurate answer there, i just ride them, i'm not a cyclist :) i guess i dont worry about efficiency because you have power on demand. it would be great if you could find a bike shop that would let you test one so you could see first hand. have you looked for local shops that rent them?

I'm 5' 10" and weigh 250lb. I'm considering the 26" Stunner X but now wondering if the 24" might be a better fit. Is the inseam measurement, your pants inseam, or is it the same as a stand over the bike measurement? Biktrik advertize the 26" as a 30" minumin Inseam. Couldn't find that information for the 24" bike. I'm probably 100lb heavier than you. Do you feel this bike has enough hill power torque for me?

CitizenCycle, I visited the e-bike dealer near me and Pedego offer a 24" model fat tires but I did not like the specs of their model, I'm really interested on 24" tire size cuz it seems that the 26" wheels are too tall. Biktrix offer a 24" 750W rear hub drive fat tires that I'm interested in. I didn't like mid drive cuz I think the operator can not relax riding it because of the shifting as you go. Just wondering, if possible, for you to review a Biktrix 24" Juggernaut duo 24" rear hub drive vs Himiway 26" Cruiser rear hub drive, performance wise. I have my mind set on the rear hub drive fat tires Himiway but I like the 24" Biktrix Juggernaut duo better. Thx
