What a delightfully surprising guest! I had the privilege of meeting Bill Nye over a decade ago on the street at the Parade of Roses in California. A member of my college marching band spotted him walking by, and half the band promptly swarmed him. There were probably a hundred of us trying to shake his hand and pose with him for photos, and he was amazingly gracious and friendly the entire time! He even managed a 5-second conversation with me about his green fedora. At one point we had crammed so tightly around him that people were having trouble taking pictures, so he motioned for people to step back a bit and the horde of millennials instantly parted like the Red Sea. That's the power of Bill!
@benjaminstepaniak88785 күн бұрын
That's such a nice story!! Bill Nye's theme song occasionally pops into my head, prompting me to look it up and go, "man, that guitar riff is just too fuckin' sick!" What instrument did you play in marching band? Or perhaps you were part of the guard?

Tesla was founded in July of 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. The 3rd, 4th and 5th employees respectively were Ian Wright, Elon Musk and JB Straubel. It was dedided at that time that all 5 would be identified as co-founders. By February 2004 Elon Musk was the single largest share holder. The first car, the Tesla Roadster, wasn’t released released until 2008, the same year Elon Musk was appointed CEO.
