jeff emerson It's either gonna be Funk Wav or Grateful for album of the summer. I heard Grateful and it's pretty good. Doesn't live up to the levels of Major Key last year but it's close and Wild Thoughts is a summer hit if I ever heard one from Khaled. However, I've been anticipating Funk Wav since the release of Slide and when it was finally announced with the release of Rollin, I automatically declared it the album of the summer. Calvin Harris is delivering some of the best production of his career and his brand of funk is just undeniable and all four singles do far (Slide, Heatstroke, Rollin, & Feels) have been some of my favorite songs of the year so far and with collabs with people like DRAM and A-Trak on the album, it seems like it'll be the best album of his career and that's saying something cuz I really liked Motion

Taylor Swift is still at that point where she's too big to just fall. Her old 2014 album did better on Spotify than Witness did when they were released. Her next album will probably do around 600k first week at least. And even that's a bit of a conservative estimate.

Remember "Perfect Illusion," "Green Light," and "Chained To The Rhythm," the comeback singles from those female artists that flopped badly. That guitar hits a sweet spot for me too) Honorable Mention: Feels (THIS BEAT!!! Calvin is killing it rn! I really think his album is gonna be great this Friday. Misc. Observations: Chart's looking pretty healthy, honestly. Sad but not entirely surprised that Lorde didn't chart. Still a chance "Perfect Places" could sneak on if the label makes a decent push. Still weirded the hell out that I'm rooting for Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, and Liam from 1D in the Year of Our Lord 2017, but somehow I am. I'm happy about almost all of the departures, particularly "Heavy" and "Bon Appetit", though I'm bummed (and, again, not surprised) that "Sign of the Times" isn't doing so hot. Please get "Privacy" the hell out of here. "Good Drank"'s travels across the bottom of the chart have been mythic in proportion. Arrivals Ranking/Thoughts: "Feels" (Best of the Week): Took a few listens, but man did this grow on me. The best summer song so far in 2017, the first song with Katy Perry attached that I've really enjoyed in years, and the final piece of evidence I needed to admit that, after years of mild indifference, I'm a fan of Calvin Harris. "Wild Thoughts" (Honorable Mention): Another one that took awhile to grow on me. Still can't stand Khaled's persona and you have to admit that "Maria Maria" is the best part of the song, but you can't deny the power of Rihanna and that damn groove. Would be fine if it somehow bridged the gap and took #1. "Feel It Still": Yeah, it's a commercial song, but I'm basic as hell, and there's a reason corporations use this kind of music. Plus, the lyrical content is pretty interesting, and it's got swagger. "Relationship": Oh Thugger. No one makes me smile like you. "Real Hitta" (Dishonorable Mention): Yuck. "First Day Out" (Worst of the Week): Double yuck. Honestly not the worst song, but impossible to remove from the context.

1.Feels: Probably my favourite calvin harris track track dropped from that upcoming album. The production is fantastically funky and a little ska influenced. Katy perry is passable here, but its really pharrell who makes the song with a damn catchy chorus. Big sean's verse is great and shows how much he's improved since dark sky paradise, I'll definitely be listening to this more. 2.Wild Thoughts: i feel like this bites "Maria Maria" a liitle too much, but that's more than made up for with Rihanna completely owning this song, her charisma and attitude completely fit this track. As for Bryson Tiller, he's ok here but I'm definitely glad that Rihanna got most of the song. If this hits no 1 next week i'll be happy, its better than pretty much all the other no 1s this year with the exception of starboy and humble. 3.Feel it still 4.First Day Out 5.Relationship: How are the highs this week so high but the lows are absolutely awful? Case in point this song. Now I've always had a soft spot for young thug, and i've always disliked future so I wasn't sure how this would turn out. And dear god this is ATROCIOUS, it sounds like a HNDRXX leftover (already one of the worst albums of the year) and is just a dreadful ballad. Young thug doesn't even have any charm or charisma to his verses and he honestly sounds like he's dying, the production is a slog with a chiptune that's way too loud. One of the worst songs of the year. 6.Real Hitta: This genuinely hurts to listen to. It's not the production sounds like it was made in about 5 minutes, or even Plies painfully basic verses and punchlines, its kodak black. Kodak single handedly made this otherwise passively bad song literal ear cancer. I mean I just don't get it, does he actually realise that he sounds terrible or is it on purpose? All I know is I never want to hear this trash again.

I actually kinda hate Wild Thoughts. It would be okay if it wasn't for the Santana sample. I get that's what people like about it, but I just can't look past how blatant and obvious it is. All I hear is the guitar from Maria Maria ripped out of that song and slapped onto this one. Why would I listen to this when I can just listen to Maria Maria? I don't get the praise for Dj Khaled songs. I can't take it seriously and it's just like every other generic rap song. Don't know why people hail it as a good song. Wild Thoughts is way better than I'm the one, thanks to Rihanna but it isn't that good either. And the new song with nas is one of the worst songs I've heard. Also I don't get why kodak black is a critic darling with tunnel vision appearing in the year end list of so many critics and the album too including billboard, pitchfork and rollinf stones.

Fuck it, I'm just going to say it; I really hope Wild thoughts hits number one. Its such a good song that I think it should be the number one song of the summer. And I'm not talking about in a few weeks, I' mean now. Despacito, Im The One, and That's What I like are good but Wild Thoughts is much better.
