Guys, I actually watched this boat being built out on Shelter Island in NY back in 2000 when I used to live there. I was and still am a huge Billy Joel fan. So happy to see this boat complete. My wife and I love your videos! We too are moving onto a boat in 2021. Looking at a Carver 444 or 504. Whatever gets us the best deal. I just passed my captains course and am applying for the license this month. Thanks for all the great content.

Vendetta has surface piercing props. Unlike many boats with them, these are tucked into a cavity under the stern. (Surface piecing props usually hang out the back of the boat.) The boxes in the lazerette that you referred to as second mufflers actually redirect exhaust pressure into the prop cavity to keep the water level correct for the props. The vent that you referred to as the exhaust is actually sized to relieve that pressure to keep it at a determined amount.

Really Really Nice!!! That was a lot of fun!!! Michael should be a bit warned though, had a 22' (foot) cuddy cabin (older boat & engine) (wooden) with 130 horsepower, Outboard Chrysler, (Really enjoyed this wooden boat) but one day, just fishing about 1\2 mile offshore, Barnegat Bay, and then what do my wondering eyes perceive me, but all of a sudden, a cloud of thick black smoke is coming out of the engine cover hatch--Fire in the Outboard-- So I immediately, disconnected the rubber fuel line (as is a gasoline fed fire) then, I have two choices with, 1. Take the engine cover off & fight the fire with an onboard handheld fire extinguisher or 2. leave the Cover on & wait for the fire to extinguish itself & disrupt any fire spread to the wooden boat--- I chose option two, to leave the Cover on but unfortunately, at the end of the day, the engine was toast from the fire, but luckily got towed into shore, to my mooring just off shoe by a good samaritan passing pleasure boater when I signaled from my bow standing & waving my arms!!! So the lesson of this Short Story, is problems do come up, from time to time, & be prepared when things go wrong out on the water-- There is old Murphy's Law of the Sea, sometimes when things go wrong, they can go wrong &at the worst possible time!!

I worked for Bradford Marine here in Ft. Lauderdale for 12 years as an electrical and electronic repair/installer. This yacht was for sale at our yacht brokerage firm and was sold around August 2016. I was in charge of removing all radar, antennas, navigation lights, and horns from the hardtop for shipment. I have photos of this yacht just before heading out for shipping. What a difference it looks now!

I am fortunate that I live on Long Island, not far from where Billy Joel lived. I have seen this boat in action on the Long Island Sound. I was at the marina next to Shea stadium when Billy Joel pulled up in this boat and docked it. I love the changes the new owners made to it. This boat saved the owner a ton of time commuting. Great video! The wood work is amazing. It would make someone a nice tender for their super yacht!

Sorry if I'm going off topic but I used to hang out in Newport a lot from when I was a kid in the '60s up until 2015 when I retired to Utah. The camera store I used to manage back in the '80s and '90s, Olympic Camera, was just up the road at Harbor and 19th St. and I loved to go down Newport after work to some of the really great restaurants they have there. My dad and I used to go fishing in Newport in a little rental. One time we had a seal jump into the boat after fish we'd caught but we managed to force it back into the water. I even caught a beer can once. I set it down on the dock next to me and the next thing I know someone next to me says to look down, and there was a baby octopus climbing out of the can. As you can tell, I really loved Newport. I even used to climb the cliffs of the Back Bay. Now I can barely walk from one end of the house to the other but at least I have great memories of Newport Bay. I used to participate in fleet races there. Made some surprising maneuvers on occasion that my sailing coach thought were really good. Which made my day. She said I was pretty good at reading the wind effects on the water. I wish I were in good enough health to go back there one last time. I can't drive more than a few miles nowadays.

Fabulous! Thanks for a fun tour of a fun craft. Obviously, this is for the buyer who could have the bumper sticker that says "My other yacht is a [megayacht brand of choice]," but would never mess up the back end with anything so crass. I watched the promo video on the Fraser site, and what actually struck me most is how incredibly flat it rides at port speed, like a 4-inch wake. Some fast boats make a mess of the water at slow speed when they aren't planing, but this one is as considerate as it is stylish. I do wonder about the running noise (when the engine hatch is closed) as well, which obviously you couldn't demo here. They certainly seem to have but in a good faith effort. The brokers POA'd the price, which is always annoying from people who are supposedly trying to sell something. They think they are being "exclusive" or high-class, but it really makes them look kind of dodgy, like some kind of con-men trying to fleece the luxury shopper. Real Estate people do the same thing sometimes, and they lose sales to more hospitable agents. Just because you can afford not to worry about the price, doesn't mean you're insensitive or ignorant of it. That's a big part of how wealthy people stay wealthy, by collecting and understanding the data of the markets. When you're selling huge ticket items, you really shouldn't make it hard to shop. Money can go anywhere, and it doesn't like to feel unwelcome. Sorry about the rant, but it just keeps coming up. I like to be able to browse without having to listen to some @#$(%*'s entire song & dance routine/pitch and running back and forth. Not appreciating the client's time value is a good way to lose them. Nevertheless and more importantly: Love and peace to you both, have a happy season, I hope your Thanksgiving was a good time, and I'm looking forward to the next exciting episode. Best tours on the interwebs!
