@@justinbergmans36 Well, the crosshairs were aimed at his hand and not the cigarette pack. However, The Jackal did specify that he wanted the frame made out of titanium (if I remember correctly) and Black just gave him one out of steel with some non-apology about the guy not having titanium. So that's probably why he got on his bad side as he should have either solved the problem by contacting him about the problem regarding the lack of material and if steel would be an option. It's been a while since I watched this movie but I believe The Jackal even stated that the gun was 'off' during the melon scene; because the mounting stand was made of inferior material.

The Jackal was properly ethical in his dealings. Murderous as fuck..? yes. (And THEN some!) But he was ('scuse the pun i.e. this scene here) a straight shooter. If you watch almost any action movie with a decent budget from the 80s-90s (even ones that got bad reviews at the time) they invariably look a million times better than 95% of what's produced today. Digital effects have become a crutch for the movie industry and the quality of movies in general have suffered tremendously for it.
@stolenname943 жыл бұрын
@@Dr.TJ_Eckleburg Exactly!!! The creativity has suffered as well and it seems like films are crammed together these days to make a quick buck. There is some good cgi for sure, but they are flexing an ability to produce something on a computer. Take terminator 2 for example, the effects were about 99% practical and all terminators were made from scratch. Its quiet scary really because they seemed so real when I watched it as a kid and still looks real now. I kinda liked the rev 9 in dark fate (dw trash film I'm definitely and I quote not saying it was good) the cgi was actually pretty good and he was pretty scary but doesn't come close to that t1000 from t2.

Not that I object to wasting Lamont, but all he built was a motorized tripod. The optics of the gun sight not aligning with barrel or the target have nothing to do with the motorized tripod. Lamont never even knew what was going to be mounted on it until he got there. Anyone who uses a scope would know this & how to correctly "sight-in" their weapon. It's real simple, test fire the rifle, then align the scope or sights with where bullet hits. If you want to program the computer to auto-aim, it needs at least one additional shot & sighting entered at a different distance in order to calculate the change in target distance to match the change in sighting points. It's not rocket science. Al the tripod has to do is remain stable when shooting the gun. The ground that the tripod here is sitting on would be less stable than the tripod itself, unless it was staked into the ground itself. Am I over-analyzing this? Lol!

AHHHHH. I initially misread it as coffee-free and I must say, I thought we were going to have to have words. Coffee = Life!!!! No Coffee = unalived for others in immediate vicinity of coffeeless bipeds.
@justinmorgan2126 Жыл бұрын
That was accurate, scarily accurate, JB didn't get thrown back or explode like you see in most movies, he simply fell over... know why? That calibre simply cut him in half and he fell, people who get shot don't get thrown back by the "impact", often they don't even realise they've ben shot. JB got sawn in half and simply fell in two pieces to the ground. BTW the gun in question is a Polish ZSU-33 14.5mm, it makes big holes very quickly.

This. I have legit pulled up shotgun gore vids to prove to people that your whole body doesn't go flying into the air like you got punched by superman. A looooot of movies do that thing where a guy gets pushed off of his feet and into the air for dramtic effect. That and folks dying from one shots to the torso in a second.

Agreed but kids nowadays would find the original boring and slow. These days they want John Wick type films. Heck my favorite film is Where Eagles Dare and fav scene was when Clint was waiting on the above the stair way. No spoilers for those who have not seen it. ; )

Would the Jackal still have killed Lamont if the targeting system wasn't off?
@richardworth69223 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Lamont was too unpredictable. The contact who made the Jackals fake passports not only lived but was given a tip. Lamont threatened to blackmail the Jackal in order to get more money for the blueprints. The moment he did that he was a dead man
@mresturk93363 жыл бұрын
If you look at the final targeting (1:53) the Jackal was aiming square at Lamont's index figer. Even if the targeting was accurate it still would have blasted a big chunk of Lamont's hand off. So I'm going to say yes.
@RyuYuzu3 жыл бұрын
Yes as this is a anti-air-ground cannon their not that accurate or made for pinpoint shooting as in the film.
