@@rebekahdavis8731 in America potpies typically are in a full shell of pie crust. if you where to look around for potpie recipes you will find that in fact most recipes have a full shell for the crust, not just the top. the version he did is a lazy version. nothing really wrong with it, just that it's far better with a complete shell. nothing really stopping anyone from baking a bottom shell and then pouring the filling in, putting the baked top on and putting it in for 10 mins like b4. last point, a potpie is a type of pie (meat pie). also it's potpie.

My grandma’s way of doing crust for pot pies has always been to use biscuit dough and placing that on top. I did it a couple times in college, and it works great. She uses the preformed rounds, and I used the box biscuit mix and poured it over the top. Halfway through cooking I crumble some ritz crackers and drizzle some honey on top for a little extra buttery, crunchy, and sweet flavor.

First time I had that stuff it was for wisdom teeth. It seems to affect everyone differently. For me it was one of the best things ever. I wasn't groggy at all. I could function perfectly well. I could still feel every ounce of pain, but it somehow turned off the part of my brain that cares about pain. I was like, "Wow that really really hurts bad. Oh well." It didn't bother me. I simply didn't care about the pain. I noticed it every now and then but promptly ignored it and got on with my day. Such a great experience. So far I haven't heard of anyone else who got the same reaction.

I will maintain ‘till the day I die that any combination of filling and pastry cannot be considered a pie without a bottom of the latter. It’s not a pretty hill to perish on, but the boggy, boot-sucking nature of it serves as a decent enough allegory to my resolve on this issue. Until my teeth go through crust and filling to meet crust again, my meal isn’t finished. “Piegatory” if you will. Things become infinitely more confusing the next time I sit down for a serving of something purporting to be pie, authentic by my definition or not. That top layers completes my previously unfinished meal, and going through a bottom layer of pastry would put me back at Net Negative Pastry Differential™. My vocation. My destruction.

On Thanksgiving, make all the different kinds of burritos from We Bare Bears episode, "Burrito"
@sydneyackerman1043 жыл бұрын
I made this tonight (and the stock yesterday) and it was a HUGE hit with the family. I will definitely be using this recipe in the future. Baking off the pastry on a sheet ahead of time is a game changer also.
