Step into the Pitch Meeting that started the Netflix movie Bird Box! Subscribe for more Pitch Meetings: goo.gl/ho3Hg6
Somehow in the midst of all the Christmas blockbusters, Netflix’s Bird Box was one of the most popular movies of the season. Bird Box memes spread like wildfire over the Internet with people getting super creative with their Sandra Bullock style blindfolds. Despite its popularity, the movie definitely raises a few questions. Like what even is the purpose of a Bird Box? Why didn’t they move into the supermarket? What’s up with the speedy birth scene?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Bird Box! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!

You know what, I'm kinda over horror movies where the monsters go largely unexplained. It was fun for a while but I kinda enjoyed the old horror movies where there was always some kind of explanation for them. Even if it was just "laboratory accident" or something lame like that. You don't have to go full Prometheus and overexplain the monsters to the point where nobody knows what's going on, but I like at least a little bit of an origin.
@SixHundredWays
@SixHundredWays 5 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100%. It seems very lazy like a "choose your own adventure book", but its a "choose your own movie monster" movie. My girlfriend said she thought the monsters in this movie were giant flying mirrors, and when you looked at them, you saw a reflection of your innermost fear. Ridiculous.

@@kaimarie6391 There seems to be some kind of physicality to them because the wind kicks up when they are there and leaves and such blow around. If nothing else they are in some way air like. I don't think they would have the kind of strength to rip of a blindfold, tho. I'm not sure if they are taking would but they are in some way sending the most unhappy thoughts a person can have to their minds which then causes them to rather kill themselves than continue to think them. It almost seems like more of an extra dimensional possession or something.

I’m gonna guess that the monsters don’t have the dexterity to pull the blindfolds off, considering they only ever appear as shadows and leaves.
