You know what, I'm kinda over horror movies where the monsters go largely unexplained. It was fun for a while but I kinda enjoyed the old horror movies where there was always some kind of explanation for them. Even if it was just "laboratory accident" or something lame like that. You don't have to go full Prometheus and overexplain the monsters to the point where nobody knows what's going on, but I like at least a little bit of an origin.
@SixHundredWays5 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100%. It seems very lazy like a "choose your own adventure book", but its a "choose your own movie monster" movie. Seeing this pitch for the 20th time I just now realize the Birdbox is pretty smart in the boat situation cause the person who has to navigate would know when to put their blindfold back on. The birds would make noise if the monsters were close so why didnt they just do that?

"crazy people can't go crazy, they're already crazy." "I feel like using people with mental health issues as bad guys in the movie might be a little problematic and insensitive." "Oh no it's okay. One of my best friends has mental health issues and he says I can make these kinda jokes." "That's definitely not how that works." "Oh whoops." "Whoopsie." Indeed. 😶

You know Pitch Meetings has got you when the first thing you do as soon as you finish a movie is head on over to check whether Ryan has done a Pitch Meeting on it!
@xitaris5981 Жыл бұрын
I usually watch the pitch meeting to determine whether it's worth watching the movie in the first place :P

I always watch the pitch meeting first. Very often I don’t watch the movie after that.

Additional plot holes: -Why do the monsters even want to kill people? -Why don't the monsters just lift off people's blindfolds?
@kaimarie63915 жыл бұрын
Not completely sure, just some suggestions. - The 'monsters' are taking souls. As explained by Charlie. - They arent physical. Either shadows or just all in the peoples head
@writingcooper79005 жыл бұрын
Neither of those are plot holes. They’re questions.
@kaimarie63915 жыл бұрын
@@lorrie9462 i felt like they arent physical because they only people who has 'seen' them are dead or insane. Also they appear to everyone differently..It just made it seem like it was in their head. But i aslo mentiomed shadows.. Because as theyre going through the trees we can physically see them coming but not see them. We can also see a small shadow on the ground a few times.
@imkluu5 жыл бұрын
@@kaimarie6391 There seems to be some kind of physicality to them because the wind kicks up when they are there and leaves and such blow around. If nothing else they are in some way air like. I don't think they would have the kind of strength to rip of a blindfold, tho. I'm not sure if they are taking would but they are in some way sending the most unhappy thoughts a person can have to their minds which then causes them to rather kill themselves than continue to think them. It almost seems like more of an extra dimensional possession or something.
@showtime59105 жыл бұрын
I’m gonna guess that the monsters don’t have the dexterity to pull the blindfolds off, considering they only ever appear as shadows and leaves.
